Hey, am sorry to hear that your condition has left you feeling this way.

My understanding is that laying on your back puts pressure on the major blood vessel the 'Vena Cava' which is turn could cause you some probs as this big vessel returns blood to the heart.

Have u spoken to your doctor or midwife about this?

I hope you can find a solution, I was wondering about a semi upright position with plenty of cushions to support your back? That might take some pressure off lower in your abdomen.

Let us know how you get on xx

I have terrible pelvis and hip pains at night and only sleeping on my back helps, and i'm the same as you - sometimes i wake up petrified that I was asleep on my back for ages! I asked my gp about it and she didn't seem to worried at that stage (i'm nearly 20 weeks), and she said when the belly gets much bigger you won't find it comfortable to sleep on your back anyway, so you will naturally stay on the side. Not sure if this will help you but i'm putting a pillow between my legs when i sleep or lie down but also now putting a soft pillow under my pelvis/hip when i'm on my side and this seems to be helping for a while, so it may help you, too. All the best x

Have you got psd? Yeah think it's the weight of the baby if you lay on your back but if you do it in your sleep what can you do?

Thanks a lot for your answers I've got a review at the hospital in few weeks will ask about this will try to sleep upright as well with lots of cushions.

Hey, have you looked up pelvic girdle pain? It sounds like you have some similar symptoms. Have a read and if it sounds like you get a referral from ur midwife to physio straight away as is better to catch early. RWhen I went physio they said lying in your back is okay but it does need to be with lots of pillows- under your knees, lower back, head and arms, kind of a recliner position. Dont wait till next appointment contact ur midwife team to discuss :-)

I have fibroid degeration that's what's causing the pain.i was hospitalised for 2days last week due to this I have been on codeine and paracetamol for 2weeks now,the pain has been really bad getting a bit better now I am also on bed rest.i had a scan as well last week so yes the fibroid seems to be the culprit! Thanks
