Baby measuring two weeks ahead
Was this from bump measurements or scans? towards the end, the measurements are quite inaccurate. Scans slightly better but still not great. We were told bump was measuring 42 weeks at one point (I had him at 37 weeks) and he measured consistently ahead the whole pregnancy. I also didn’t have gestational diabetes.
despite being told he was on 97th centile during our final scan at 35 weeks, he was a reasonable 7 pounds 10 when born (around50th) Definitely not giant!
I think the measurements are a good guess if babies who will be really giant or very small. Best only worry if your midwives do.
Best of luck!
I had a growth scan at 36 weeks and they told me my baby was really big, which absolutely terrified me. They weren’t wrong she was 9.3 ibs but the labour was absolutely fine, she was just really long.
I know it’s easier said than done but try not to worry too much, the scans are never 100% anyway.
Good luck.
Hi Rae6, I too was told exactly the same with my LG. I was told at 38 weeks she 2 weeks ahead and was 8lb and I didn’t deliver until close to 42 weeks so they were anticipating a 10lb baby… she arrived safely at 7lb 13.
As the others said… don’t worry xx
Thank you for the replys I have another growth scan Friday alot ladies have said the same been told told measuring big and hospital have been wrong
