Private school or public school?

In about 6 months' time, my babes will leave my nest and take their next step in life. But I can't decide if I should put them into a private or public school. Is one better than the other?

I need some advice.

Where are you based? In the UK the next school year begins in September and places have already been allocated for public schools. The NCT mainly focuses on babies so you might not get many people whose children are at school age yet. If you're in the uk Ofsted reports might be a good place for you to start in identifying what schools are good in your area.

My daughter is starting in reception September, she has already been allocated her school, so do you have a school lined up already? As for private Vs public, this is very dependent on the actual school. Mine go to a public school (I also have a child in y1) and she loves it, and is learning loads. Can read and write very well already. Were lucky as all public schools in our area are pretty good.
