Implantation, miscarriage, or period?

My period has been about a week late now and today I just started getting some light pink/brown discharge, I took a test but it came back negative and due to family genetic history I'm not sure if I should be worried. I'm not sure if I didn't catch it early enough and miscarried, if it's implantation bleeding or if I'm just having a really weird period month, any tips and advice would be much appreciated!!

If your period is a week late and you’ve taken a test, the result should be very accurate unfortunately. You can try and take another test in a few days time if you wanted to but I think it would be unlikely to change x

My only problem now is, I keep trying to read more on all of this and I kept finding different things, some saying that a pregnancy test wouldn't show positive until after implantation and others saying otherwise. And now I am bleeding but it's not like. Normal period it's really watered down and I'm not sure what it could be.

A pregnancy test will show a positive after implantation because only after implantation the hormone detected in the test is produced by your body.

It’s strange it’s watered down but I’ve definitely had lots of periods whilst ttc that were ‘different’ and did not give me a positive. Maybe it will be different for you. Otherwise speak to your gp if it doesn’t feel normal at all
