Hi guys, I'm just looking to see if anyone can relate to my situation. I've had 2 miscarriages one in 2019 and another in 2020. Both pregnancies ended at 8 weeks. I found out I'm pregnant last month and according to when I had my last period I should be 9 weeks. Today I had an ultrasound and the Dr said she couldn't see much but the gestational sac is measuring only 5 weeks. She asked to see me again the 2nd week of March only. I am so scared this pregnancy will end in another miscarriage. Please I need any advice or relatable story.

9 weeks pregnant but measured 5 weeks
Hey, so sorry about your previous losses I cannot imagine how that must feel. Although I haven’t experienced a loss before I have been in a situation where I was supposed to be 10 weeks pregnant based on LMP however baby was measuring 7 weeks (thread on my profile). I am now 19 weeks pregnant and so far baby has been good thank God. I write all that to say, it may be possible you ovulated later in your cycle and when I was in this situation I read multiple women's experience about the same thing happening to them and baby was fine and growing when they went for a follow up scan. I pray this is the case for you when you go back for your scan x
Hi lovely, as other said, you might have ovulated later, which explains the calculation. If we were you, I would look at alternatives to keep the baby in the womb, like taking steroids (prednisolone), having intralipid drips and taking progesterone supplements… you can speak to your doctor and see if that could be an option. I hope everything goes well with your scan!
I don’t want to be the bearer of bad news but with dates 4 weeks apart doesn’t that mean you’d have tested positive for pregnancy before they’re even saying you got pregnant? I wouldn’t want to wait another 3 weeks not knowing. If you’re sure of the test date you did and your period Id ask them to scan you again in a week if possible. If you’ve already had 3 miscarriages they should refer you to the recurrent miscarriage clinic so you can get some help, like someone else as said sometimes it can just be a case of taking something to help keep the pregnancy. And not waste any more of your time and further heart break x
