Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with taking zolmitriptan for migraines while pregnant. I’m currently trying for a baby so not sure if I’m pregnant or not but I do get quite a few migraines every month and I’m a bit nervous in taking zolmitriptan as it says there’s no clinical studies in pregnancy. Also I’m worried it might affect my chances in becoming pregnant. Just wondering if anyone had this problem before or used it while pregnant.
Thank you 😊

I haven't used it in pregnancy, but having been a migraine sufferer all my life, I didn't have a single one during either of my pregnancies, I think my migraines were mainly due to time of the month so was lucky enough to not get them while pregnant.
Good morning, I have suffered Migraines for many years, normal Migraines and the rarest kind of Migraines Hemiplegic Migraines. I have had them before and throughout pregnancy as pregnancy hormones can make them worse, they didn't make them worse they just didn't stop. Many women suffer Migraines due to hormone levels around the time of menstruation and ovulation so they actually do stop during pregnancy. I have used many medications and currently use Sumatriptan for Migraines during pregnancy as I did in previous pregnancies. It has had no effect on my children. If you are at all concerned about any medication you are taking please talk with your gp or pharmacist as they will know if it is safe for you to take.
Thank you so much for your reply 😊 I have spoken to my GP but I didn’t find it very helpful as all she said was that because there weren’t any studies or much scientific evidence it would be up to me if I continue to use it or not 😕 I might try and get a second opinion or ask to change to a different medication.
