Hello. So, i have a mitral valve prolapse (Barlow's syndrome), i was fine until 2 weeks ago when i was 27 week gestation. I don't know what to do as I literaly can't laying on my left side and sometimes doesn't matter which side i triing to lay i have a constans palpitations and won't leave me for hours. I was on a heart scan a month ago but i was fine then, so nothing happened. I spoke to the midwife but she does not seemed concerned, so i am a little bit worried because i tought that she is gonna send me for another heart scan. And she said that they probably can't do anything about that until the baby is born. Does anybody had same or simmilar problems? :( i really worried about this :( i feel like i am not gonna be able to give birth naturally, and also i am scared of comlication or emergency situation because of my heart condition.

Are you not under and obstetrician or cardiologist? Midwives deal with fairly straightforward pregnancies and not complicated ones. I would get in touch with your obstetrician or cardiologist. If you don't have a obstetrician, I'd be making sure you tell the midwife that you should be referred. If the palpitations are that bad though I would be attending a&e.

I have no OB, and was at on heart scan once, a month ago when the midwife sent me. But i was fine then. I am dealing with palpitations since i was about 16, but now it is really bad and i am scared of emergency situation during birth. Also my every appointments with a different midwife, the last one sent me to cardiology but this one just seemed don't care at all 🥺

Maybe try contacting your GP. If you cannot get help through the hospital, GP should be able to help. Mine was really helpful when I needed something, as soon as they heard pregnancy, I got appointment no problem.Another option is that when you have heart palpitations, contact triage, if that fails go to A&E.
