Don’t know what to do!? - induced labour ?

What next? Induced already - didn’t work after nearly 3 days! - do I wait it or not?

I was induced due to having pre disposition health problem of arthritis - hasn’t caused any issues to pregnancy or baby health but was offered induction so I could return to old meds sooner.

Been in Hosp for around 56hrs now and still nothing happened - 2 pessaries, I re inserted as it has dropped and one tablet pessary, 1 sweep & 1 set of stirrups later (horrrreendoussss) after trying to break my water even with the use of gas and air I feel like I’m now out of options.

I asked as baby is healthy can I go home and wait out for natural birth as I’m only 39.3

I think my mucus plug also came away last night.

I’m so exhausted from being in hospital and feeling really weak but mentally and physically drained like preganancy process isn’t for me - I’ve seen so many women come and go and even ones who have really really struggled but still managed to power through.

The thought of staying terrifies me and makes me feel weak even more.

I don’t know what to opt for next has anyone had a similar wxwperice whatbdid you do? Or what were you offered?

I’m to scared to have a c section - I would love for my waters to break naturally and contractions to come naturally so I don’t have to be prodded and poked anymore but scared it won’t happen and thinking it won’t happen is now also stressing me out.

In a similar situation (3 pessaries and nothing, no contractions) I asked for a c section. It was a bit different, because I was 40+5 and waters broke spontaneously but labour never really got started. Baby wasn't yet in distress but I just wanted her out by that point. It was the opposite of what I had wanted, but I felt in control and respected and it was a positive experience. They stopped induction, I got a bit of sleep and had surgery the next morning. Recovery is not great, it's major surgery, but mine healed very nicely with no problems and now she's coming up 2, I barely remember it.I'm just telling you this so you know c section isn't necessarily terrifying, but you're so early on and if baby's not in distress and waters aren't broken I think you've still got time on your side before deciding for a c section. Hope they let you go home, sounds like your baby just isn't ready to come out yet!!

Hi there, I went through something similar, they tried to induce Labour as I suffer a rare form of migraine and they were getting worse. They tried many different measures to bring on labour over 8 days nothing at all worked. My final option was a c-section which I am so pleased I had as during it they discovered that baby was actually stuck in a weird position, his head/neck was twisted and he would not of been able to be born vaginally and had to be delivered with forceps during the c-section. A c-section is major surgery but I recovered well and was out walking in the park 11 days post op. I have since had a second c- section and I will be having another with my current pregnancy. I did have 2 normal births prior to having a c-section with baby number 3.

I would say a c section is better, you'll have your baby within minutes and just a little sore afterwards but you'd be sore after vaginal birth too. Good luck

This was me last week. I found the whole induction process so physically and mentally draining. I asked to stop it and booked in an elective csection for a week later. Wanted a chance for him to come naturally, he didn’t. I had my csection yesterday and it was honestly almost pleasant and I was DREADING it. I knew there wouldn’t be pain but was still worried about ‘sensations’ there were none, just felt like someone wobbling my stomach and then there was my baby.Day 2, it hurts but not nearly as much as I expected. Feels like I’ve pulled a muscle.

Be patient it takes its toll... You wrote this two days I'm guessing you would of been in labour by now....
