As long as you feel is needed. You'll be very sore the first few weeks. Just take care of your scar and see how you feel.

I had a section 11 weeks ago, we first made love when I was 4 weeks and 4 days post op, it wasn’t uncomfortable at the time but I had some soreness to my scar for a day or so afterwards so we waited a bit longer and tried again when I was 6 weeks post op and it was much better, just try when you feel up to it and see how it feels. I bled a little after the first time as well but didn’t after 6 weeks

The bleeding part is what scares me☹️. Thanks for the feedback

I'm 4weeks+5days post op now and haven't tried it yet. When I left the hospital they said to wait till after the 6 week postnatal check up. I was feeling really good, recovery wise, at the 3 week point but then started to do too much and consequently felt much more fragile last week. It's mainly the muscle recovery I think rather than scar pain etc and I know it will take a long time to get core strength back but I'm in no rush to have sex if it will slow my overall recovery.

We waited for 6 weeks, but were intimate without full sex from about 4 weeks. Like the others have said though, make sure you feel comfortable as everyone heals differently. I was really paranoid that my wound would break open - sounds a bit daft but I'd had an infection. It was all fine though.
