Just wondering if any mother’s have ever used these drops? I do usually take vitamins myself and just wondering if anybody has given these to their newborns before?

I’m also breast feeding so just wondering if I will be giving my baby too many vitamins? If that’s possible?

Vitamin D is recommended for all children, this is perfectly safe. We used abidec for our newborn as it was a multi vitamin that's given on the nicu wards for premature babies but this one is perfectly safe.

Yeah, our pediatrician told us to start giving vit D drops basically from birth. I think it's pretty standard xxx

If baby is formula fed this isn’t needed as formula is fortified and anymore vitamins is just a waste of money as bubs is getting everything he needs from his milk and there is such a thing as too much vitamins, but as your baby is breastfed they recommend a baby has these drops daily from birth and to just follow the dosage on the packet x

I used Abidec, as did my friend whose baby was born at 25 weeks. Highly recommend them. Myyoungest kids are 3&5 now and they still like the taste!😂

If you take vitamins and you're breastfeeding don't give your baby anymore, it's not necessary. But if you still want to give it's safe.

Usually the doctors advise 500 I.E. for babies from birth on. I have been giving Vigantol tablets to my daughter - just either dissolve in water or, what I found the easiest, put the tablets behind the cheek and while drinking it dissolves. It no choking hazard.

With Vit D in drops you have to be careful not to overdose, since it's oil soluble. Plus the drop might be bigger or smaller depending on the room temperature.

Vit D is important no matter where you live or how the baby is fed.
