Ovulation

My and my partner have started trying for a baby. I’m wondering what ovulation tests people have found the best? I have got endometriosis so feel like my ovulation day probably won’t be the normal day 14 so would like to know to help improve our chances of falling pregnant 😊

I just use some cheap ones from amazon. I use the Flo app to input my period and start testing when it suggests I may be ovulating but it’s normally a few days to a week after that as I’m not always regular so that’s why I just use cheap ones x

My advice is as you've just started to try to not focus on ovulation tests. I wasted so much money and time on them. They don't give accurate readings. I struggled for 18 months to conceive and the ovulation kits told me I was ovulating but it turned out 12 months into TTC that I wasn't as my tubes were blocked with endo! The best way is to just have sex every 2-3 days and enjoy the fun. If you're not pregnant by 6 months then maybe it would be better to get tests on you and your partners fertility. As that's the average it takes to get pregnant. I know endo is often associated with fertility issues, but it does really depend where it grows so may not affect you at all in this matter. Instead of ovulation kits, if you do want to try something, use the temperature method as is meant to be more accurate. Hope that helps and good luck. P.s. I have a little 16 month old miracle baby now and my periods were never regular and I now know I ovulated around day 5-8. So definitely not day 14. Every woman is different, with or without endo. I wish I had known all thos stuff and just listened to my own body.

It took me a while to get pregnant but the month we did we made a huge effort to have sex every other day for about 2 weeks. We used ovulation tests for the first time and never got a peak so was convinced we weren't pregnant again. Point is they aren't to accurate and having sex regularly is a better strategy so there is fresh sperm ready waiting when you do.

I did cheap ones (whilst preventing pregnancy with my natural cycle app) and generally a positive ovulation test was hard to find unless you were testing twice a day. Highly recommend digital clearblue, the purple one, which gives you flashing smiley when you are near to positive LH surge (so you can have a few days running up to ovulation) then a solid smiley when it’s the key time eg, within 48hrs. I loved them. No faff. No guessing. I’ve got pregnant after two months of using them. I did also do temperature checks every morning with my app but I’m quite stat obsessed. An increased temp after a positive LH surge on the ovulation stick confirms you’ve ovulated. Xx

Yup I’m the same as the others the cheap ones I bought out of home bargains is what I used! Use the flo app and keep an eye on your discharge as right before you ovulate it turns to white or clear slime that can only be described as looks like snot and an abundance of it! That’s what I did and on the first ovulation I had that year as I have pcos and I’m currently typing this with my 6 week old daughter in front of me! Fingers crossed for you ! Xxx
