Hey , I had a c section and you stay in hospital for 2 days .

I would say make sure you use your buzzer for anything you need for the next 12 hours after as no one told me this so I was hurting myself trying to pick my baby up and sort his milk as I wasn’t progressing any breast milk.

Make sure your babies crib is really close to you and you have babies nappies and outfit on the table right next to you. I didn’t have the greatest experience but my baby is now 14 months old . Good luck and congratulations xx

Hey

I had a planned c section last year, we stayed in hospital 1 night. The whole procedure was fine, don’t be nervous or worried your going too be meeting your precious baby.

We went in hospital at 7, they come round and check you and baby, about an hour before they told us too get into scrubs, took us down to theatre at 11.30, wore you up to blood pressure, heart monitor etc, injection 11.45, lay you down, this cut to skin 12.06 baby was born 12.16. We was then taken to recovery room where they keep eye on you and baby check you both over and we was back on ward at 1.30.

With Covid going on, I suppose your not allowed anyone too stay with you? Is this correct?

If you aren’t, then I’m sure you will get extra help, as you won’t be able to move, my infection started wearing off about 7pm, but I didn’t get up till the next day.

I would use your buzzer when you need help, don’t over do it, you have had a serious operation and shouldn’t be lifting anything.

Our experience was amazing and I really wouldn’t be worried or nervous, but I can understand why you feel it especially with Covid going on.

Just take it easy and don’t hesitate to use that buzzer. If you want any more help/advice please ask.

Good luck for tomorrow and enjoy the smell of a newborn, the best smell ever x

I’m sure everything will be fine for you, you are allowed home once your up and about. Passed a certain amount of urine (can’t remember the exact amount) I passed what they needed within the 1st lol.

But just go slow and steady, that shower will be the best and worst shower you have ever had, just be careful if you showering on own and not too over do it. x

Hi, I had an emergency section on monday, I was allowed home Tuesday which is virtually unheard of but in light of Covid I didn't want to stay in hospital knowing that I couldn't give my baby the proper care without the support of my husband. As long as you can get out of bed and walk about, pass urine and feel generally well, then they may allow you to go the day after. Don't over do anything, get plenty of rest when you do get home and don't be afraid to ask for help when you need it. Keep on top of your post op pain relief of you need it.

My advice to you would be to stay as calm as possible during the procedure, and if you do panic then they will give you more drugs so don't be afraid to say. Everyone is different in these situations.

My husband was allowed in with me for the procedure, he went home that evening.

Good luck, you will be absolutely fine, the hospital staff will take excellent care of you xx

Good luck for your C-section. I've had two - one emergency and one planned. And the one which was planned I had a much easier recovery from. It's normal to feel nervous but the doctors and nurses will make this time special and give you time to meet your baby. The anaesthetist I had with my planned csection was fantastic. My first birth had been traumatic and ended up in an emergency csection. She listened to my concerns and worries and she did everything she could to make sure my second birth experience was much better and it was! Good luck for today!
