Disturbed sleep - pregnancy or stress?

Hi,

I’m only 4-5 weeks pregnant and have known about my pregnancy for a week now.

I’m doing all of the ‘right’ things - I’ve quit smoking, I’m taking folic acid and iron supps (vegan diet so iron levels are slightly lower).

I’m really excited, but since I found out my sleep is awful! I’ve been waking up around 4-5 times per night, often needing the toilet and often taking a further hour to drop back off. I’m completely exhausted.

Is this a normal symptom or is it more likely the stress/worries of pregnancy?

Thank you

Hi. Congrats on your BFP! I'm wondering the same thing. I'm 6 weeks tomorrow following IVF. I'm struggling to sleep but also having migraines so think that's making it worse. I've been trying not to go on my phone and much before I go to bed hoping it helps.x

It’s more waking up in the middle of the night which is the issue, I don’t have problems dropping off! Congratulations 😊😊

Very normal - should ease off in second trimester and will return with a bang at the end of pregnancy just in time for a newborn 😴😴😴.
