Anxiety at 9 weeks

Itsalongjourney26 profile image

Hi guys,

I've conceived through IVF with my husband and had a scan at 7 weeks 6 days. Today I can't shake my anxiety that something is wrong... Not feeling sick and sore boobs are barely there today. I have my booking appointment on Tuesday. Has anyone had a scan at this to reassure them?

Freaking out and hoping it's in my head 😢

Yes I knwo exactly what you mean, I had a scan at 8 weeks and then 9 weeks because my mind was going into overdrive. It's hard to trust your body when you feel like it's failed you in the past. But it knows what it's doing, just try and be kind to yourself and do whatever makes you feel better at this point. Even if that's endless scans. We got a decent deal on some and it really helped me inbetweeb reaching milestones. My aniexty finally started to settle around 20 weeks, when we finally told people we were expecting. Big hug to a fellow warrior, you can do this!! ❤️ xxx

Aww hun I remember it so well- the early weeks are a complete head mash aren’t they! Time really drags ☹️Symptoms do come & go. I never had sickness with either of my full term pregnancies ( my son whose 21 years & my daughter is now 7 months) I had to have a scan at 10 weeks due to bleeding ( bled between 6-14 weeks) I never relaxed I constantly worried with Francesca until she arrived( it was a long 7 year struggle to conceive ) I would have a private scan if it’ll put your mind at ease xxx

We had IVF too and after a miscarriage first time round I was a nervous wreck. Second time round I barely had symptoms but my clinic did say at 8 weeks ish symptoms start to fade as hormones balance out. I had a lot of bleeding at 6-10 weeks so had a few scans but if that didn’t happen I would probably of paid for another so maybe that’s something to think of xx

If you are in the UK the first scan is at 12 weeks on the NHS. The anxiety is normal but do what you can to reduce it. I went for a private scan about that time to reassure me. Also had another at 10 weeks as part of the harmony test.

I was exactly the same but waited until my hospital scan. I think it’s completely normal. Some days I had symptoms worse than others and was convinced that something was wrong. It’s just pregnancy hormones going up and down.

Try to relax as much as you can. Focus on breathing in and out to keep calm. The first trimester always drags by but it does pass eventually.

And congratulations!

Hi I totally understand, the only thing that helped me was private scans between week 7 (last scan and the clinic) and week 12 (first NHS scan). For me they were worth every penny and helped me to out my mind at ease. We also did harmony test and found out the sex of baby at 10 weeks.

Just to say that symptoms literally change every week throughout pregnancy, you think you know what is going on and then something new happens and you wonder all over if it's 'normal' or not. Try Mindful IVF app it's brilliant and helped massively with going through first trimester xx
