confused neg urine & blood test have all the symptoms of pregnancy. The DR says it's pre-menopause because I'm 48yrs

My last cycle was Sept 18th prior to that I had robotic hernia repair August 19. my stomach has an egg shape and is hard at the top. I'm tired, dry mouth, the breast is tender and heavy and I urine often. I know my body and I fell pregnant. What should I do and who should I see I live in Washington, DC.

Have you looked up the symptoms of peri menopause? They me very similar to your symptoms and your are in the right age range for this? If your urine and blood is negative for pregnancy, perhaps your doctor is correct?

Hi, yes I have looked up the symptoms for peri menopause and they are very similar but that does not explain the dry mouth, vomiting and my egg shape stomach. I need a ultrasound to be sure. I have never missed a cycle and i'm not in any pain but my stomach is steadily growing and my boobs are getting heavier and tender..I'm getting concern.

But if both urine and blood are negative your not pregnant. Could be something else or see if you can pay to get a ultrasound just for peace of mind.

If you have recently had stomach surgery could this be a reason for your stomach shape? Pregnancy wouldn't necessarily create hard areas at the top of your stomach, or change the shape of your stomach. Did your doctor examine your stomach, as they often feel if your pregnant from your womb especially if you're a few months along. Why don't you book in for a ultra sound? In the UK we have private places that do scans separate to a hospital, but I wouldn't know what you have in the states.

Thanks for the advice, yes my hernia DR cleared me at my post visit, and maybe I should have used the term firm. But you are right, my next step is an ultra sound.
