Has anyone bought a Doppler to heat the heatbeat at home?

Are they worth it?

What week is best to hear it? Thanks !

I know everyone has their own opinions on having one but I personally wouldn’t get one. Yes people have them at home for re assurance but if you need re assurance or become concerned about your babies movements you should go into the hospital. They do more than just listen to your babies heartbeat when you go in to be monitored x

It's not something I have bothered with myself, but I did use my partners stethoscope to have a listen in occasionally when the positioning was right. If it's just for a bit of fun then by all means go ahead & get one, but definitely don't rely on it for peace of mind in regards to baby's movements etc. If you ever concerned then see a professional rather than check yourself x

I got one for the weeks before my proper movements started, I'd had a missed misscarriage and was petrified of losing that baby so it was more for peace of mind, obviously if anything else was wrong I would have gone and been seen to, I stopped using it when my baby started really moving as I knew he was ok if moving, it really helped me through those weeks, and I will probably use it again with this baby. We heard the heartbeat well from like 13 weeks, you also can hear your heartbeat which is a lot slower than the baby's and you can hear the placentas blood vessels which is more of a swishing sound but you get used to the sounds xxxxxx

I know that they aren’t recommended however I got one purely for my own sanity, I watched a lot of YouTube vids so I knew what to listen out for and used it in between week 12 and week 24 probably once or twice a week for reassurance. Have rarely used it since feeling regular movements but it certainly helped me mentally cope during the first few months! I think it’s a personal choice and you should never rely on them for ensuring everything is 100% ok, always check in with your midwife if you have concerns 😊x

There are several sounds a midwife checks for so what you hear may not actually be babys heart beat but very easily mistaken for one there for not advised , if just for fun then yeh sure why not but dont rely on it .. hope all is well and good luck
