So with my first scan on Wednesday I was wondering how long everyone’s first scan was?
Mine is 8.30 in the morning
TIA x

About 3hrs as baby wouldn’t play ball with measurements/position 🤦🏼♀️ I had 3 scans in total after walking and jiggling and waiting etc 🤣 Little tinker did the same at 20 weeks but they are less likely to move with jiggling then so I had to go back two weeks later.......she’s still a tinker now at 11months 😀 x
I recently found out im 3+ weeks (BRCA2 positive) so limited time to have kids and im only 23. My BF of 3 years (who i broke up with weeks ago and still live with) was so cute and supportive when i first found out and now ive told him im keeping baby he says he never loved me etc. Should I believe this or is it shock?
Our baby was well behaved for our first scan, but I honestly couldn't tell you how long we were in there, it could have been hours but it felt like 5 minutes, I could have watched our little one wriggling round all day! It was mesmerising.
Realistically I think it was about 20 minutes, but the time they check heart, position, size etc.
It's not as in depth as the 20 week scan which took over an hour for us and takes lots of measurements of nearly every part of babies body.
Best of luck x
The actually scan itself isn't very long if they can get the measurements they need easily enough. As a few ladies have mentioned it's all down to baby being well behaved. All mine have & I think the actual scan took around 10minutes. If your opting for the combined screening you will need to have blood taken afterwards so allow extra time for that. Obviously it's all dependent on how quick your hospital are but I've had to wait an extra 45minutes for someone to do my bloods after my scan before now x
Mine was about 20 to 30 minutes but felt less than that. But you may be asked to go for a blood collection or healthy eating appointment straight after
