After a little bit of spotting (and a MMC last year) I went to my EPU to have an early scan (at 5weeks). The scan didn’t show much at all so went back a week later (6w+5) and there was a heartbeat and it had grown considerably!
She did say that the baby wasn’t showing at 6 weeks yet. Has anyone had a similar experience? As much as she said it wasn’t anything to worry about- I’m worried! So I’m a week behind what I thought.

There’s very little to see early on and changes all the time congratulations try not to worry x
I went for an early scan, thought I was 6+3, they measured at 5+5 but like you there was a little heartbeat but I still worried as they’d put me back almost a week. Then when I went for my 12 week they moved me forward to my original date (how far along I thought I was at the first scan). I think it’s hard for them to get an accurate idea so early on so I’d try not to worry x
It’s very hard for them to be accurate at dating the age of baby at this point so I wouldn’t worry too much about the difference of a week.
Wait til you get to the other end of your pregnancy, they’ll be just as inaccurate about predicting birth weight.
My scan at 7w+1 looked similar to yours, couldn’t really see a baby, but could see the heartbeat flickering away on the screen. Had my 12 weeks scan more recently and all was well! Hope it’s all ok for you and try and relax (harder said than done I know!!)
Hey, I was scanned at what I thought was 7 weeks but doctor told me the measurement hinted 5+6. She said embryo was smaller than expected and that she wanted to see me again in 5-7 days. When I came back 5 days after I was measuring 6+5 so she was happy with it and set the due date. I'm one week behind basically but since then the embryo has developed exactly as it should (I had weekly scans, another one is set for tomorrow - 12 weeks).
I know how stressful it could be this phase but please have faith xx
