So yesterday, I went for my 20 week scan and baby just wasn’t playing ball. Upside down and back to front so sonographer didn’t manage to get everything she needed.
But... what does she need? What are they looking for at this stage?
We saw the heart and the four chambers and the valves working perfectly, we saw the lungs and the bladder, we saw the spine formation and the arms and legs, but she couldn’t see the face and the head formation...
What do they look for here? Not worried, just intrigued!
I’m back in first thing in the morning to try again. Baby was a pain on my first scan too, I’m going to have a cheeky little lady on my hands.

They normally check babies lips on the face to make sure it's not got a cleft lip xx as baby wasn't playing ball at are 20 week scan and the only think we had left was face and the sonographer said that she had to get babies face to turn to check lips xx
Our son was a monkey on EVERY scan bar the 4D that we paid private for, thank god 😂!
He kept putting his arm over his chest on our 20 week scan.
They check everything. Give baby a full MOT. Check facial features for cleft lip. Check the length of their neck as apparently people with downs have shorter necks. They check the length of the bones in their legs to make sure they're growing right. Heart and chambers, spine, stomach n a few other things but I've forgotten now 😂! Our son is 9 months old now.
