Bit confused. Is it normal to go into such great detail about premature labour when your expecting twins? It actually has me quite worried. Making me think it’s going to happen now. I’m 16weeks now and it seems abit early to be discussing it. Has anyone else had this discussion with their dr?

Hi, I would say yes because twins are nearly always premature - whether that’s naturally or if not they tend to induce or do c-sections. So try not to be worried because they are used to this happening :) people I’ve known with twins had them around 34-37 weeks x

Aww thanks nice to hear your friends managed with their babies. I was aware of them coming that early so been prepared etc but wasnt prepared to be told about them coming before 30weeks and to tell them if I think I’m in labour and that they will need to be taken to a special baby unit at a hospital miles from where we live if there isn’t any space at our local hospital. It just seemed abit excessive. Convinced there is something wrong and resigned to the fact my babies will be really premature now. Trying to organise getting a scan for reassurance as I’ll just keep worrying. 😭

Ah I see yes that’s a bit scare mongering isn’t it? Try not to panic. It won’t be long til the 20 week scan. None of the people I know with twins had them that early xx

Thanks for your message it’s much appreciated. Didn’t really know what to make of it all? The scare mongering has worked. Too scared to go to the next app!. Was doing really well up until this point as well. Desperate for a scan to make sure everything is ok ☹️ X

Not long to wait! Twin pregnancies can be a bit scary for mums but remember all the medical professionals are used to it :) x
