My husband and I have been trying to have a child for the past two years, we've been having unprotected sex, always on fertile period, but it never happens. The first two years I met him, we decided to wait for the next year and that kept me on pills to avoid getting pregnant, and now we really want it, its not happening. Could there be a problem?

You should probably go to the doctor to get tests done.

Other than that just make sure you're both being as healthy as possible, eating good foods, staying active, no smoking, minimal alcohol and caffeine. Also make sure your partner's private parts aren't getting too warm, he needs loose underwear/trousers and no using a laptop directly on his lap. Not sure if there's any other advice to give, it could be a whole number of things.

Do you know when you ovulate? I only ask because it took us a while to conceive this time (had miscarriage previously) and I thought we were always having sex just before and during my ovulation period - we weren't monitoring it but due to extremely regular, 28 day cycle I thought I knew when I ovulated. I actually got pregnant when we had sex 4 days before I thought I ovulated, so I was in fact ovulating only a week and a half after my period. Worth speaking to GP but maybe you are ovulating earlier than you think as well?

Good luck. Relax. Enjoy sex. From speaking to many women it can take A LOT longer than what most websites say, so don't be disheartened xxx
