10 days overdue 😩

Im now 10 days over...very tired...totally lost my energy mojo now. Im due to be induced thirs to which im very scared...just the point of being so interviened with. I was really ready and up for it...but keep ready the storys of how this can be dangerous now and a lack of nutrie ts for me n baby. Not a cramp or a niggle either...just his norm movements. Any advice or good storys out there.x

Hello, I can totally relate to the anxiety of this! I was 11 days overdue, had 2 sweeps to get things moving along, which were pretty unpleasant! Do you mind if I ask how they plan on inducing you? I still needed to be induced despite the sweeps as my waters had broke but little man still wasn't showing any signs of arriving so had both forms of being induced, the pessary thing first, still not nudging so they then gave me the drip and he arrived 8 hours later, perfectly healthy. I was told their main concern with being induced is it goes from a few twinges to very intense contractions quite quick so doesn't give mum much time to adjust. In the end I'm glad I was induced rather than keep waiting for things to happen x

A pessary thurs morning...if nothing i will be on a drip and possible doc to break waters...ur story gives me hope...did u feel alone in hosp. Ive been advised only to have my partner there on visiting hours while pesary is in.x

It was a bit strange and lonely as they gave me the pessary at 8pm, then sent my partner home at 11pm as they then planned to start the drip at 4am, think their intention was I would get a few hours sleep before the drip but I was too wired! However the midwives and assistants on the ward were amazing and really helped to put my mind at ease and my partner was back before I knew it. The drip does get things going pretty quick in my experience, which I am glad about now, however, and I know how hard this is, get as much sleep as you possibly can, don't fight it after your pessary 'just in case' things start moving, I would recommend getting your head down and feet up as soon as possible after the pessary, and hydrate!!

Do you or your partner have your birth plan written down? Get your wishes across once your pessary is done, helped give me some peace of mind x

I am sure you will be totally fine, your about to experience something a bit scary but so so amazing xx

I wasn’t overdue but had no signs baby was going to arrive until 5 1/2 hrs before she did so I’d try not to worry too much that it might not happen naturally. Hang in there, all these worries will be a distant memory when you have your baby in your arms x

I was due to be induced on day 11, but my waters just broke on day 10. 20 hours later (it was a long one 🤦‍♀️), baby arrived!

I know you can feel so frustrated with being overdue, but at least if you're going in for induction, you will definitely have your baby soon. Xx

I was induced and I kept my hubbie with me throughout- it really helped, if your hospital allows it x
