Waiting

This is so frustrating. I'm only 6 weeks but I want to tell the world. I also want to wait until Easter and send a nice card with the first scan image. I also can't wait for my booking appointment... I am feeling very impatient right now!! It could be a long nine months!!!! Also, I'm supposed to be working. Absolutely zero concentration for that right now ... What about the pram, is the car suitable, when will I really 'feel' pregnant, ... I can't think of anything useful right now 😵

This is EXACTLY how I feel! I’m only 5 weeks and haven’t even had my first appointment yet, not got that for 2 weeks (!), yet I want to tell the world. I’ve got so many questions that I know my mum friends could answer but as I’ve not told them, all I’m doing is driving myself crazy with questions in my mind!!!! This isn’t helpful to you but just wanted to say you’re not alone xxx

Yes, so many questions. And the first few weeks are so important... But they don't see you until week 8-10?! I just found out yesterday from lots of reading that you're not meant to take vitamin C or use spot creams (mostly due to the ingredient salicylic acid which is in ibuprofen). Also no more than 50g of dark chocolate or anything less than 'well done' meat 😵 so many things!

Congratulations! What is ‘well done’ meat?

in reply toCyclingBump

Oh my god just realised it’s meat that’s well done - thought there was some kind of meat reward system I didn’t know about, like “well done for getting to the second trimester; have a steak” 😂😂 I’m going to put this down to baby brain!

Lol. Nhs website has good advice for pregnant women. Reduce caffeine and no unpasteurized cheese or pate etc

I was exactly the same! I found out at 6 weeks... We decided to tell our parents straight away. I then went for a private scan at 7 weeks as I couldn’t quite believe I was pregnant, and was scanned at 7 weeks 3 days, we then told our close families. I also told my best friend and so did my partner and then at 12 weeks we told everyone else who we wanted to tell.

I’m now 25 weeks and it only seems like yesterday that we found out!

I had this so i found my self telling random strangers. Waitresses/ check in staff at hotels lol. They love to share the news and doesn't really count as telling people

Yes, I have told staff in shops and restaurants 😂 it's good fun! We're planning to wait until week 20 to tell family and friends ... It's going to be a long 14 weeks!!! But my sister had one last year and they all interfered so much ... and I don't want their opinions on whether they think my cycling or diet is ok. They think I'm weird enough because I keep fit and healthy as it is. Goodness only knows how opinionated they'll be about me continuing my lifestyle while pregnant.
