Sorry lovely I really don’t know but if it’s light pink I don’t think anything to worry about. If you are using pesseries it might be a slight irritation to that or if you have had sex it could be an irritation to that.

Try and rest a bit. If it gets worse call the EPU for advice. If they are closed pop to a&e. Lots of ladies including me had red bleeds some heavy and everything is ok.

Good luck xx

It’s so stressful when you see blood isn’t it? I’m 10 weeks now and have been to the EPU twice due to blood/spotting. From all i’ve ended up reading and being told it seems light pink or brown blood is less concerning, red/clots and cramping is more concerning. If in doubt, go to A&E. Otherwise contact your GP for a referral to your local EPU. If you’ve had your booking in appointment with your midwife (you might not have yet) then you can contact them for advice too.

I think the thing is that we get told/read blood in pregnancy automatically = bad. But I spoke with a wonderful sonographer at the EPU on Christmas Eve and she said there are certain types of blood that are normal e.g. the bright red, thin mucus mixed blood I had at around 9 weeks indicated the placenta was kicking in, which is good. But not knowing that at the time (and this being my first pregnancy) I was terrified.

Rule of thumb...if in doubt, check it out. If only for your own peace of mind. So far my experience with drs, hospitals etc is that they’re willing to play on the safe side and check things out, I’ve not been made to feel foolish or over anxious.

Wishing you the best with everything.

I’ve had pink and brown spotting all the way through my pregnancy. It’s nothing to worry about some people are more vascular than others (I also started getting nose bleeds and bleeding gums in the third trimester). If you are concerned contact your local early pregnancy unit and ask for a reassurance scan.

I’m 8 weeks pregnant and had bright red bleeding a week ago. Obviously thought the worst but had an early scan and all was fine. No reason at all for the bleeding but as long as there is no pain and it doesn’t get really heavy I’ve been told not to worry. Even if those things do happen it doesn’t mean the worst. Sorry that you’re worrying & scared it’s a frightening time but fingers crossed all is well for you x
