Hi, I guess I’m looking for some reassurance here or your experiences. I’m 6 or 7 weeks pregnant and this afternoon I noticed some colour on the tissue when I wiped after having a wee (on two different occasions).
It’s not heavy-there is only a tiny amount and it’s very faint in colour, and it doesn’t really look like CM or period-like, rather more like it discoloured the tissue.
There was nothing out of the ordinary in the toilet bowl, and I’m not in any pain (other than low level cramps which I’ve had on and off since getting pregnant).
I phoned the doctor who didn’t seem too concerned but said I should keep an eye on it. If it gets heavier (possible miscarriage), if I get sharp pains (ectopic).
Without either of those symptoms, could this a normal thing to happen in successful pregnancies? Has anyone had this in the early stages? What was your experience? Thanks, I’m a bit worried!

Bleeding is super common in early pregnancy and it's a horrible thing to experience. If it's only when wiping it's unlikely to be anything to worry about at all. When I was 5 weeks I bled on and off for a week, red blood, clots, cramps you name it and all turned out okay when I had an early scan and never did find out what caused it!
Keep an eye on it but don't panic and if you feel really stressed you could always book an early pregnancy scan privately there are places that offer this. All the best xx
Hi, I did experience the same when I was about 10 weeks. Concerned and worried went to Early Pregnancy Departmental at the hospital. Ask to be done the urine test to see is there is any infection or bacteria(sometimes can be if you have some symptoms). They didn’t find anything. What I have been told is that It could happen during the time when i use to have my period either in my case the womb was closed completely though some discharge was normal. Hope this little will help
Thank you. The blood was looking fresher this morning and there was more of it so I called the docs again. Still no consistency to it, it just stains the tissue. It’s not constant either, and I only see it when I wipe.
They’ve taken a urine sample and confirmed I’m still pregnant (faint line, but I’ve always had a faint line) and that I don’t have a urine infection, and I’ve got a scan at the early pregnancy unit first thing tomorrow as it’s the doc thinks it could be a threatened miscarriage.
Very tearful as I don’t really ‘feel’ pregnant but hopefully that’s just my mind playing tricks on me 🤞 My breast soreness has reduced, but I’m still having the low level crampy feeling that I’ve had since I found out. I’ve been pretty lucky on the symptoms front compared to others, so other than the occasional spontaneous retch (sorry!) I’ve not had a great deal of symptoms.
It’s the waiting that sucks. Once I know if it’s not viable, I can deal with that. I’m a nervous wreck!
I think you have to be strong, thinking positive no matter what 🙏and not worried as you said your mind is playing tricks on you.
Please ask for deep check of the urine test as I did at Early pregnancy department don’t let them be vague
I didn’t trust the first one and I wanted to go ahead.
Actually I went without appointment, they kind of were mad of me because of coronavirus risk, normally you have to call( begging of April), but you know .. I couldn’t sleep with that thought in my mind ...
Had my scan yesterday, and I’ve been told I have a pregnancy of unknown location. They checked my tubes and they appear to be empty, and my lining is thick, but no sign of baby.
There was a suggestion that it might be too early to see, given my cycles are inconsistent lengths, but I can’t help thinking the worst. They took my blood and will repeat on Monday to check my hcg levels.
Trying to stay positive, have been less tearful today and trying to keep occupied. No fresh blood today, but still seeing a bit of older blood. Monday morning seems so far away!
