Tks Sisi14. Yes I am working and have insurance. But they seems to say that midwife and any treatment related to the pregnancy are not covered in my plan. Except if there is complication
I emailed back and asked for the maternity costs as maybe they misunderstood my question.
In the uk if you have been with an employer for more than 6 months you get maternity pay either satuary pay or full from employment. Also you get time off for antenatal appointments !
If you are legally permanent resident have you checked if you get NHS treatment for free? I would check. Some people pay extra on their Visa to get this. If you are from the eu ot should also be free.
As for maternity check with citizens advice bureau and Gov.uk
You or work should have a family policy so ask for this
Hi naty! Congratulations on your new addition to the family.. you should be ok regarding the maternity, I had my baby last year in here and I'm from Portugal, after your visit to the midwife you fill up some papers and get an exemption maternity card which is also for dentists or other treatments you may need regarding pregnancy all with the nhs. Good luck
