Help I took piriton syrup
I’m not sure about it hun I know if your pregnant and you have an allergy the pharmacist don’t give it you they tell you to see your gp so your best ringing 111 and asking them or epu . Hope your ok xx
I took Piriton in later pregnancy and my baby didn’t kick for 2 days so obviously worried I went to the midwives who checked him out and all was fine they just told me I had dosed him up and made him drowsy, after that I went to the doctors and they gave me eye drops that worked brilliantly. In the first few months of pregnancy you and the baby don’t share the same blood supply. So you should be fine. Call your midwives just in case, and book into the doctors so they can prescribe you something for next time. X
I had a rash on my tummy when I was pregnant and spent a day in the maternity DAU waiting to see someone, they gave me antihistamine. As the others say talk to a health professional though as they will be able to reassure you properly.
I’m 36 weeks and take an antihistamine every day for my hayfever. Without it I’d be suffering and stressed. My pharmacist wouldn’t prescribe me anything so o saw the doctor and she checked what would be the safest to take in pregnancy. In all honestly nothing is tested on pregnant mothers but I’m taking the lowest dose I can.
What is the active ingredient in the syrup? Most over the counter oral antihistamines are fine as long as they are the non drowsy kind and are steroid free.
There is a fantastic app called infant risk that tells you how dangerous a medication is during pregnancy and breastfeeding, and for general information.
Going forward, eye drops would be a better option, large sunglasses when outside, avoiding being out of having windows open during sunrise and sunset when the pollen count is at its highest will go a long way to not needing medical help xx
I dint no at the time or I wouldn’t of done it I did go to the hospital today I’m fine thank god if I need anything I am aloud the 400g tablets only 1 every 24 hours so that’s ok
