Confused...

I took ovulation test this morning and this is the result, but... I started my Period Saturday night/Sunday morning (4th March). I finished my period on the 8th March, as there was only the slightest bit of period left.

So I thought I’d ovulate around now... this test detects typically 4 or more fertile days...

My question is:

Have I tested too late or too early to receive a low result?

I just ejected the stick and where it detects there’s two lines, the ones quiet faint... I’m so confused as to whether I’ve just missed it or not but the fact it detects 4 days surely I’m not too late at testing? Confused!!!

Hi, I would guess it's just abit early and to test again tomorrow.

The instructions in the kit give a general idea about when to start testing but all depends how regular your cycle is.

I would always get this clear circle for at least a day or 2. Better to test a bit early and not miss ovulating. Just annoying because the tests are so expensive!

The tests are expensive! That’s why I don’t want to waste them kind of like I brought a pack of 10 for £20! I can’t keep doing that I’ve just moved into a brand new house haha.

In the guide it states to start testing on and around day 8, although some on websites suggest to start testing day 6, however day 6 I was still bleeding a little so?

It’s all so confusing I just want to know for sure 🙄 I will test again tomorrow morning!

I bought mine from Amazon, I think it was 20 for £20. Definately cheaper than the supermarket, I remember that.

Just keep testing for the next few days. Hopefully you will get a smiley face soon!

A change in your discharge (abit TMI, sorry) is another good indication.

I got a flashing smiley face this morning, so hopefully this month will be my month! X

Hey. I have been advised when testing for ovulation that it depends on your length of cycle. I usually have 28-30 day cycle so wud start testing on day 9 or 10 then would find I generally would ovulate on day 14 or 15 of cycle. It be the flashing face that means full fertility too. Best wishes. ☺️

Also if look at lines ovulation is when there are two very clear lines. If faint it means u getting there but not quite ☺️ keep testing in morning then 12hours later so twice a day. Also look out for your mucus (sorry tmi) as this is also a good indication ☺️😀😀🙌🏻

The tests are so expensive though the advanced clear blue, that’s what I’m using. I might buy some cheap ones too, to just use in between when I’m not sure! I will test again tomorrow morning!

Thank you! X

You ovulate throughout the entire week so it may start of faintly and gradually get darker over the cominng days up to your peak day. so i would continue to take test through your entire cycle to get a idea of when you are most fertile.

I was trying to hard I was stressing myself out over it and becoming more and more depressed about it and then as soon as i stopped trying i fell pregnant. try not to worry yourself about it too much, nature will take its course.

hope this helps, Good luck😊

I’ve read and been told testing of a morning is the best chance of getting the most accurate reading. However some say of a night too? It doesn’t help when there are like mixed messages about things 😂 I’ll test tomorrow morning and see if it changes and the morning after. Hopefully I should ovulate between then as Monday will be Cycle Day 9! Probably tested too early!

Thank-you for your help x

Testing in the afternoon/evening for ovulation is the best time to test around the same time each day, its best to test in the morning for a pregnancy test, once you work out your cycle length and your peakest time for ovulation you'll be fine just try not to stress over it because it does take a big toll on your health, mentally and physically. you can get get something called conceive plus and the reviews for it are brilliant, but to use it you would need to work out you peak week😊 If you get ovulation strips and test through the whole month, around the same time everyday and record your results it'll be easier to work out.

also have you recently come of any contraception?

All the best

I came off the pill at the end of October/beginning of November time, had periods every month since some being a 20 day duke some being 21/22. However before I was bang on 21 days each month.

I tested this morning for ovulation and I got a flashing smiley face😁

I will however look into buying conceive plus! Thank you x

You should buy the cheap ones from amazon/eBay buying the clear blue will cost you so much money especially where you don’t know which part of the month your fertile. If you buy the cheap ones you can test everyday and it’s not costing a fortune. Don’t worry about not being able to tell whether it’s positive or not you will know believe me. Keep them all and you’ll see the line get darker and darker everyday. When it’s at its darkest your ovulating xxx

Generally based on a normal 28 day cycle you should start testing around around day 9 of your cycle (this would be the start of your fertile window roughly 5 days before ovulation) as someone said before you can get cheaper ovulation tests from Amazon with 50 in a pack which detect upto 36 hours before ovulation. Not everyone ovulates on day 14 it depends on how long your cycle is. So its best to start day 9 and keep testing til you get a positive hence why the cheaper ones are better as you get more.
