Hi Claire2225 that’s something I’ve been wondering. Does your GP do it?

I got it done by the practice nurse at the GPs

I just rang my doctors surgery, told them I was pregnant and my midwife had recommended I get the vaccine soon and they booked me in with the nurse.

In the UK it will be somewhere between 16 and 32 weeks. It is a vaccination I won’t be having as I had a severe reaction to it as a child which caused me to start having seizures xxx

Oh really? So do they just vaccinate the baby when born in that case? Xxx

They do the vaccine now so they are protected for the first 8 weeks and then they will give it to the baby around 8 weeks old I think. Xxx

But it’s a question that I will have to ask because none of my siblings were allowed the whooping cough vaccination when they were younger because of how I reacted. X

I suppose it’s one on those things were you don’t know how you’ll react until you have it. I hope you don’t have any long lasting effects xxx
