Hey all - I have an assessment with a nurse on Monday. Home visit. I keep hearing horror stories about when people have been open with them. Is this your experience or have you any to share ?

Perinatal Mental Health Services
I've been open with them and been offered nothing but support. I couldn't get in to see my Dr and they phoned the practise up and made them see me
Is there anything in particular you are worried about? In general they will give you more support if you have a history of mental health problems rather than cause issue around it
Just self harm in the past, ptsd with dissociation symptoms - scared they’ll think I won’t be fit to be a mum
Taking a child off mum is really the last thing that they do, and is not often done. They can offer you extra support to cope with baby.
I have seen people with severe mental health issues and even then these were admitted to a ward with baby so they could have better support... and this is only is very severe circumstances so I wouldn't worry about it
Thanks again for kind comments. Nurse was ok, I was as open as possible and felt reassured it wasn’t going to go out of hand. Mainly focused on support due to ptsd. Have trauma symptom stabilisation on 14th so hopefully that goes well take care
Let us know how it goes
