Hi, can anyone tell me at what stage do you legally have to tell your employer you're pregnant? I'm 16 weeks, and would like to leave it as long as possible if I can... I'm quite new in the job and started when I was already pregnant (although I didn't know this at the time!) Thank you

I was given my MAT1b form from my midwife at 25 weeks which tells your employer that you are pregnant. I think you have to legally tell them about 15 weeks before you plan to go off but not 100% on that. Depends if you can hide the growing bump x
Legally need to tell them by week 25 about your maternity/shared parental leave plans but you might want to tell them earlier if you want time off for appointments.
Also employerstwhile are required to carry out a risk assessment for pregnant women and if they don't know you're pregnant, they are not obliged!
Hi, thanks for replies... I will try to hide it for a bit longer then I think!
