Please help. I am so fed up with running around for answers.
I had two miscarriages so far, my second one was 2 days ago and I was 5 weeks both times whenit happened. My instinct is telling me there is something wrong and I want to check but the nhs is not willing to offer me D and C to make sure all remains are gone and I am unable to be offered tests to investigate where the problem is coming from.
I am going to see my GP tomorrow but I don’t think they will be much help either.
Please advise if anyone has gone private and was successful? Or has anyone done any relevant tests to identify where the problem is?
Thank you

So sorry to hear about your angels. We have also had 2 miscarriages. Our first we lost at 9 weeks. I had to have a D&C even though I said no at first because our baby had got stuck in my cervix. They manage to take our baby out but I was still in a lot of pain and after another scan I still had clots left so it was safer for me to have one.
Our second we lost at 5 and a half weeks. I was told there is nothing that could be done because they don't scan anyone before 6 weeks. I was concerned as I had only passed 4 very small clots. I did mention to the doctor that I was concerned due to our first loss but she said as long as I wasn't in pain and the test was still negative then all should be okay.
If you're still concerned then I'd mention it to your gpand see if they can offer you a scan. Sorry I've not been much help x
I’m so sorry for your loss. Thank you for your advice. I know it’s not easy. I will call and ask for a scan again.
My friend already had one child, then three miscarriages. She is very assertive and kept asking for answers and tests but they refused to do any until after her third miscarriage. The tests all came back that there was nothing wrong. The doctor advised her to start taking aspirin as soon as she next had a positive pregnancy test, she did and now has a beautiful, healthy six month old. Her experience was that they wouldn't do anything until after three miscarriages. I'm so sorry for your loss, its utterly heartbreaking. Do ask but expect to be told you have to wait. I don't think its worth going private as my friend has private insurance and I know she would have used it if it would have helped.
Sorry, I can't remember and its not really something I want to bring up in general conversation now, if you know what I mean. Asking the hospital and doctors about what tests they can do and what is available can't hurt. Best wishes.
I happen to come across Choline, a substance close to folate and vitamin B12 (while I was reading about the ALT liver enzyme on Wikipedia).
Apparently a choline deficient diet has been known to cause miscarriages. We make choline but need to supplement it from our diet too or else we lack it. We might carry on living with a diet poor in it but it seems we can't sustain another life.
It is found in Raw beef (Biltong?), eggs, veg like spinach, cauliflower and broccoli, cruciferous veg, almonds and peanuts etc.
