Cramps & bleeding

I'm 5 weeks now and since yesterday I have been bleeding and it is getting heavier. It is bright red with clots, I have had cramps for about 3 days aswell. Has anyone else experienced anything like this and everything been ok? I have a doctors appointment for something else in the morning so I will mention it then. Thanks xx

It has been known for this to happen and all be fine. But you need to go to get checked. When you bleed in pregnancy to can take yourself to a&e who will refer you to EPU early pregnancy unit and they will do an early scan to let you know where you are. You can also call you local epu and speak to them over the phone - they can advise you.

Sorry, but sounds like you might be miscarrying. I miscarried last year. Started spotting, then like a period then large clots.

Call NHS 111 or go A&E. They will probably offer you a scan as they can't confirm miscarriage without scan. They will also look at your cervix (like a smear test) if cervix is open then it's likely to be a miscarriage. It takes days to get a definite answer take iron supplements now so you're less likely to need a blood transfusion if you bleed heavily. Hope you're ok. Message me if you want to talk more x

Yes I have gone through this experience. You must rest do as little as possible take care of yourself elevate your feet slightly above your heart on pillows. Let your husband do all the housework and vacuuming. Do not lift anything heavy or have sex or do anything strenuous at this time. Make sure you get on a prayer list, get yourself some crossword puzzles or even start crocheting or knitting. Try to keep a positive attitude and pray! Good luck hope everything goes well for you!
