23 weeks pregnant and not felt movement yet

Hi!

I am 23 weeks pregnant with my first baby and I haven't felt him/her move yet. Everything was fine at the 20 week scan but I'm just getting anxious about it. Don't think it helps with everyone asking if I've felt him/her moving and then telling me they felt something a lot earlier! Any advice??

Thanks

Each person is different and chances are that you will have felt baby you just don't know it (or are mistaking it for something else) as long as your scan's are all ok i wouldn't worry, but maybe mention it at your next midwife appointment if you still haven't felt anything. x

Hi :) I didn't feel my baby move until 26 weeks, I got a big prod!!! Now I'm pregnant with my second baby and feel him/her a lot earlier. I realised I just didn't know what movement felt like before. If you think it's gas or indigestion or muscle twitches it's more than likely your baby!!! :) :) Being a mummy is such a huge worry and even worse when everything is new. Don't worry too much, it will happen (and then you will stress about baby not moving enough...never happy are we?! oh just in case it helps my top tip is have a glass of ice cold orange juice, lie on your left side in a quiet room and wait) enjoy it x

I'm 25 + 5 and I don't think I've felt anything either. He was zipping around all over the place in the 20 week scan (we could see it not feel it). I have an anterior placenta and apparently that may be cushioning movement. Heart beat and growth were normal at 25 wk scan but midwife suggested if still not feeling at 28weeks they'll send me for extra scans just to check.

Hi, check your 20 week scan report, you may be with anterior placenta ( in front ), in this case is more difficult to feel baby moving. I bought mini ultrasound for £20 from Amazon and for my reassurance was checking once per week the baby heartbeat .( they are not recommended for everyday use). Hope you feel the little one very soon. Good luck :)

Thank you ladies. I have checked my notes #evanjelina and it does say anterior placenta. Thanks for all of ur reassurances, I was fine about it until everyone starts giving advice and saying when I was pregnant or I did this. I'm sure that will only get worse when baby arrives! 😂 Thanks again xxxx

I had an anterior placenta and didn't really feel anything until at least 24 weeks. I remember them telling me at my 20 week scan that I'd definitely feel something soon, but I still didn't for a few weeks, I was disappointed! The anterior placenta really cushions the movements, so don't worry about it. Hopefully you will start feeling something in the next few weeks though :) xx
