God I hate people.... Full of their opinions... I swear some people are completely oblivious to other people feelings. Now, call it over-reacting because of the hormones etc but really....mi don't need to be told how small I am for how far gone I am... Especially carrying twins. Well thanks guys, these are my first two so my stomach hasn't already been stretched so give my girls a break.... And me.
People say these things and then you start to doubt yourself and your pregnancy. I lay on the sofa the other day and I couldn't stop myself having a blub because I couldn't get the thought of how small my bump is out of my brain. Doubled up with the fact that I hadn't felt them that morning (must have been snoozing because the moody little people let me know they were there in the evening), it really got to me.
Every time my pregnancy is referred to by the midwife/ consultant "high risk" is mentioned, so I don't really need the extra worries guys!!!!

I had a small bump, and then ask of a sudden it was measuring big, and I was'high risk'but they couldn't say what I was at risk of. I had one big but skinny baby, 8.3 and perfect.
Ahhh I'm glad you LO is ok. All this pregnancy malarkey is nuts. I don't think health professionals help half the time though, yes it's nice to know how you're doing but jeez, the way they come out with some things really makes me cringe... "Did you really just say that?" It's all good fun π
I had a little bump and got very fed up of this too - but have had three babies that were fine, able to breastfeed etc. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy Completenewbie
Surely if there are so many of us wonderful ladies that are "so small" the. Surely....me aren't actually that small??? Lol I makes me chuckle how people just expect you to be the size of a bloody whale just because you have another person/people growing inside of you. Thankyou sweet pea x
It can cause so much stress but in the end I was glad to have the extra scans and my three babies were all delivered just ripe, little and perfectly formed. You will soon be cuddling your little sweat pea, keep relaxed xxx
Aww lovely! Considering I'm a cuddly size 16/18 I was paranoid about being big, but I had a super neat little bump, yet there was so much waters in there and a gorgeous super healthy 7lb 4oz baby.
Ahhhh my favourite madam Lotty π how's your LO? I was a size 18 before becoming so very pregnant but have managed to loose 2 stone... Thanks to the little madams making me hack everything up for the first 13/14 weeks lol and somehow by some miraculous happening... I haven't gain any back so wooooooo. I think this is why people are saying that they can't really tell I'm pregnant cuz they are used to seeing me a 'fuller' lady anyway π I find it's the people that you know that comment the most... Would feel a little bad going on a massive rant at those lol
π we're good thanks, Niamh has been a horror since last Friday, then my boyfriend goes away to see ACDC at Wembley last night (lucky bugger!) and we watch 50 shades of grey, eat chocolate and get the most sleep ever!
I lost a stone and a half because of sickness. π I didn't put much weight back on until about 36 weeks. And I'm so far half a stone lighter than I was before being pregnant, just from breastfeeding. π
I ranted at everyone, dad, mum, sisters. Lol. I used being pregnant as an excuse to be moody. There's got to be some perks to feeling rubbish.
See I try and use the whole "I'm hormonal" thing and people still seem to think I'm just being moody and a b*tch.... No guys, just ever so slightly more sensitive to your rubbish! Lol Hahn I'm so glad your little lady is all good. βΊοΈβΊοΈβΊοΈβΊοΈ
I'm hoping to keep the weight off.... Fingers crossed... I doubting it though... The girlies seem to have a little bit of a sweet tooth hmmm... Taking after their mummy π ah from the feels of it they are getting the munchies... Wriggles tell me that it is most definitely time to source some food π
You're not the only one. I am pretty sure gestational diabetes is on the cards for this lady.... The girlies have taken after their mother and have sweet teeth... Oops π
Hi lovely I'm on my 4th and get this constantly especially as there's another lady at school whois quite large at same week as me. But sod em sod them all...until someone with actual medical knowledge and degrees says something about measurements then worry xx don't let other people spoil your pregnancy cz you won't get it back beaut x chin up xxx
Hello lovely princess!!!! God I love you lot π you're all so bloody lovely. And yes I shall attempt my very harder to remember to ignore each and every single silly comment that comes out of people's mouths! One by one we shall make people understand that all pregnancies are different and just because ours don't conform to their ideal of what a pregnancy should look like, it doesn't mean ours are all wrong!!!! Wooooo mummy power!!!!!
I'm expecting twins too..and I know exactly what you mean. I'm 18wks now and have been told my bump is small. But drs are happy with how my pregnancy is going therefore I tend to ignore what people have got to say! Too many opinions are very stressful to hear especially when your at high risk with twin as it is. Try not to get upset or angry, it's not worth it, u know ur fine n ur babies are fine so that's all dat matters. I tend to jus tell ppl confidently that I know what I'm doing and that I'm doing just fine
Woooo yay!!! Twins!!!!! People really do assume because you're carrying more than one little person.... You will definitely be becoming the size of a house.... No love.... Maybe slightly bigger but not huuuuuuuuge. Some people are just silly. Like I said in my above reply! Let's take um one by one and teach these crazy people's that life doesn't have a specific measurements for bellies when carrying babies!!!!! I really hope your pregnancy continues to flow smoothly.... Mine is pretty fandabbydozey currently... Despite the crazy hormonal outbursts I seem to have occasionally. βΊοΈ
Ignore them! I had a small bump until she was born and she was absolutely fine. I got fed up of people going on about how small I was and then after she was born and I went back to my normal size after a few days people seemed disappointed that I didn't have any 'baby weight'! It seems to have become socially acceptable and the norm to become huge and put on loads of weight while pregnant - there is only one reason people put on a lot of weight while pregnant and it's the same reason you put on weight any other time, eating too much. Everyone is different and for some reason people like to make you worry about every aspect of your pregnancy - just to warn you, it doesn't stop once they're born.
I know exactly what you mean! I am ever so slightly disappointed I haven't had any of the major horror stories yet lol to be fair apart from the comments about the size of my belly and the deep intake of breath when people realise I'll be pushing twins out of my foof, I have t had all that much negativity. Not that we need any more as mummies to be. I can actually say I am totally looking forward to the comment that I'll get once they are born.... Not! God theres so many beaky people around.
This is so true - I am sick of people offering me cake, biscuits etc and saying "go on, you're pregnant, you can eat what you want".. it is a cultural thing in the UK that people see pregnancy as an excuse to stuff their faces even though it is not good for mum or baby! I keep being told my bump is 'tidy' and my husband thinks it is as I have not put on weight anywhere else.
I've been treated to the same thing... "Ooooo make sure you eat all that" "go on have another piece" " well you haven't eaten a great deal" - followed by a shake of the head and a tut.... Well sorry guys, my girl don't want me to eat that or all of it.
Unfortunately though, the girls do seem to have contracted sweet teeth, so I'm trying to find some sugary alternatives that won't have me piling on the pounds. I've been really lucky so far and I've not put any weight on what so ever, and despite being tired and starting to ache everywhere, I haven't felt this good (health wise) in ages.
People are forced into this delusion that we can munch on piles and piles of food and it have no effect. Something which I feel strongly needs fighting against.
I had small bump too, first baby. A lot of people (neighbours from flats, peeps from other offices at work) said didn't even know I was pregnant - was size 8 b4 so wonder wat they thought bump was? Holiday weight?? My son was 6lb 11oz when born & now very long, happy healthy baby of at least 12lbs (suits not fitting as well these days); combi breast & bottle fed since day 3. Is now 11.5 weeks old so nearly 3 months & been teething for about 4 weeks π he's fine. Ignore unless medical professional wiv a genuine concern due to ur records / measurements / scans I say!!
Lol not gunna lie, your post made me chuckle....my out would have thought at a tiny size 8 people would actually realise the belly going on. Ahahahaha! I'm really glad your LO is doing great! Ahhhh gods I loves ze babies!!!!!!!
I know - mental! My son is gorgeous, such a poppet, despite heat & teething (he's getting the top back molar type ones now, as well as front bottom ones); he's been so good & happy today! π Good luck wiv yours when they come.
Ignore them all hun. I had high risk pregnancy and everybody had to give their comments. But I had a gorgeous 6lb 11 son. You will find the same when you have had them, get sick of people saying their child was doing this and that before yours. Just ignore them all and enjoy your pregnancy, before you know it you will have them in your arms. Take care xx
And I can't wait! I genuinely really want them here...l not that we are all organised for them quite yet... But feeling them squid get about makes me just wanna snuggle them and squeeze them. Plus it would make it so much easier to see the bottom of the screen on the iPad because my belly wouldn't quite be as much in the way lol I hate how the whole would has put time limits on little people.... Heaven forbid they aren't crawling by such and such an age otherwise clearly there is something wrong with them.... No love... My baby just doesn't fancy crawling yet.... Give them bloody chance!!!!!!
Hi,
I know exactly how you feel, I was small with my first I measured 37cm at 40weeks, I also had low platelets (high risk of bleeding) so had stickers all over my notes to alert people, they kept a close eye on me but I gave birth to a healthy baby boy weighing 7lb 6oz with my second I was even smaller I measured 34.5cm at 38wks so I had to have regular scans to check baby and once again I had low platelets, but I gave birth to a healthy baby girl weighing 7lb 1oz, she was induced 11days early due to the lack of movement I was having.
All the way through both my pregnancies I had the comments "your a little small are they worried?" "Are you sure your that far along?" I would cry my eyes and as more and more people said it I would doubt my self, now looking back I should have ignored them as it just added stress I did not need.i now have a happy and healthy 3 year old boy and a 10 month old baby girl (although she has allergies)
So please try not stress, enjoy being pregnant it's a special time, relax as much as you can. πxx
Ahhhh you had tiny bellies awww If I'm completely honest.... I think life would be very much easier without a too huge belly....clothes, moving, sleeping.... Huge bumps are over rated! Lol at least we still have clothes to fit us eh ladies! I tell ha I daren't relax too much I think I'll seize up.... And my head is already starting to go into nesting mode.... Not good.... Because currently upstairs there is a ginormous double French pine wardrobe and drawers that have my name written all over them so then I can paint the other corner of the girlies bedroom.... I know I'll end up with earache if I even attempt it though lol naughty me π
Clothes still a nitemare as bump grew every couple of weeks & no where stocks anything, all maternity wear online (apart from bit at H & M which was mostly skinny jeans & leggings & Jojo Maman Bebe - pricey). Hello retailers, I would like to try stuff on to see if it fits my baby bump before I buy please!!!
Tell me about it! I have managed to find what looks like maternity wear in 'yours'... A plus size lady store. Got some lovely tops with that rooshing at the side. Woo high street store βΊοΈ
The world thinks it can say whatever it wants to pregnant women and its all fine. Next time someone comments give them a hard time! !! People need to learn to be more considerate, its just not on!!!
I might just borrows you Shelley βΊοΈ I think we can stand at the front of the store and just scowl at people as they come past us lol I really do love how people see your belly and instantly go into the mother of all quizzes about everything and ANYTHING followed by their life story and how they had the most wonderful pregnancy their measurements were absolutely perfect and nobody could possibly be as wonderful mother as them... Or.... The instant shopping list style of things that could and probably will go wrong because all of that lot happened to them. Gotta loves the beaky people! Bring on having them here!!! Why can't people just look at you and go... "Congratulations" and then just walk off or if they are here " well done you, you're doing a great job" nooooooooo that's not the world we live in!
I went to a nursery (I won't say where) where that sat 3 yr olds near a cake all day & said could only have it at home time. Apparently latest research says this is good for self discipline...I say this is torture & kids should be kids for as long as possible!
Needless to say, my son will be attending a different nursery & the staff confirmed there are always bitemarks in the cake (surprising non? They are 3!!!!!)
I agree.... People should keep their opinions to themselves unless they genuinely have your best interests.
I'm only 5' 2" and I was constably being described as big! I was paranoid that I was fat and the baby was going to be huge. I was a big baby when I was born so that added to it.
In the end my little boy was 7lb 9oz and he was very healthy and my weight dropped back to almost pre-pregnancy after 10 weeks.
Thankyou for your reply. It's nice to hear it from the bigger bump side aswell... I was fully expecting to look and feel like a massive heffa... Being a larger lady already. So the smallness has come as quite a shock.
It's scary how people have their ideals that everybody has to conform to otherwise you're just not right or something must be wrong. I've gotta say though, being pregnant has totally opened my eyes. I view other people in a completely different way. It's amazing what can happen to your brain when something happens to you.
I'm really glad that you gave birth to a perfectly healthy baby. Just proves people are always wrong π
Everyone comments no matter how small/big your bump is, I think it is all people can think of to say!! I keep being told my bump is 'tidy' - what the hell is that meant to mean?
In answer to your question though.... I would assume that it's nice a nice round bump with no wobbly bits and just looks lovely... Like a small beach ball just strapped to the front of your slender body.
Unlike mine... Which is still currently surrounded by flubber lol
