I'm 9 weeks and 4 days pregnant but I had a scan at 8 week which the hospital has now classed as my dating scan, I'm not due to see my midwife until I'm 16 weeks, should I be going to my doctors so they can keep checking on things in the meantime?

Where are you from? I ask because in the uk you see your midwife at around 8-10weeks for your booking in appointment & a blood test, then you don't see her again until 16weeks anyway. As for your scan, I have just looked on the nhs website & it does say that you dating scan can be offered between 8 & 14 weeks. But if you were wanting the combined screening for Down's syndrome, then the scan part of the test can only be done between 11 & 14 weeks for that. After 14 weeks they can only offer a blood test.
So really, if you want the combined screening then they should be offering you another scan in my opinion.
You shouldn't need to see a doctor about baby in the meantime while you wait to see your midwife. But don't hesitate to call her should you have any concerns- that's what she's there for.
Sorry for long winded reply lol good luck with everything, & congratulations on your pregnancy
I agree, just call and make an appointment with your midwife in the next week or so, to ask about the downs screening and whether you can have another scan for this (if you want to). Otherwise don't worry, you don't need to see a doctor unless there is a problem!
