Funny enough I'm new here, it was recommended by a friend as I found mums net not to my liking to be polite, and I was just sitting here thinking are people really that stupid? Dry humping and "God told me I'm pregnant but I'm not sure" being more whom I'm referring about of course.

What happens when they get reported? Anything? Xxx

I have ended up not coming on here lately for that reason, because at the end of the day they all get the "we are not doctors, take a test" response, and repetitive posts are boring.

It really is getting worse. And when you think things have reached the bottom of the stupidity-scale and it can't possibly get more absurd, bam! there is the "god told me I'm pregnant but the test disagrees"-post. The admins seem to think these are genuine posts by people who really need advice, but in most cases I disagree. I used to read some of the posts for a laugh, but now I can't laugh anymore. Either they're intentionally wrecking this site with their annoyingly dumb questions or they are really that stupid, in which case I fear for their offspring. Both possibilities start making me really angry, so I'm deleting my account now. See some of you elsewhere xxx

Hi. I have been reading the posts a while and found them really useful when I was pregnant. My DS is now 5 months and I found it very reasurring that other people were suffering the same symptoms as me. I very much suspect many of these posts are trolls and possibly people trying to see how wound up the replys are. I also suspect from some of the language used that the posts are not from people in the uk. I very much agree with other comments people have made about not replying to tbe messages. Just think how empty some peoples live are that they have time to write these mesaages!

I feel that after my last post we either all pull together and try and get sex education changed in schools or we continue this cycle of disbelief and end up ignoring the genuine pre pregnancy posts, which would be a shame x

I really don't think these posts are from British girls Hun, if you look at words/language used they sound mostly American, but certainly not British xx

Newlywed has gone. How many more members will fly the nest? Admin might as well rename the site because the message is not getting through and they are loosing the 'mummy' members of the "National Childbirth Trust" site. As the babies get older, we have less and less time on our hands and I really cannot be bothered anymore, seriously....as I said in the title.

The site is a JOKE :-(

in reply tocheekymonkey3791

That's why I think we should either do something to change it, or leave it all together. The NHS site is as bad, people comment on the pregnancy symptoms page asking if they're pregnant and that's not even a forum site!

I reported a few more yet again, as trolling with the comment: "These sorts of posts are losing valued members. Thanks for nothing."

I think I'm going to have one more attempt at emailing the admins again. I'm going to encourage them and Healthunlocked to actually look at the sorts of posts that are being put up on here. I'm also going to question their anti spam and trolling filters.

But please, I urge you all to NOT reply to ANY of these posts.

It's just feeding the fire, so to speak.

If a new member logs on to ask one of these ridiculous questions and sees that similar posts have got several replies, they won't think twice about asking the dreaded question.

And the 'trolls'/prank posts, they are just there to get a reaction.

Sent an email. See below:

Hi again,

Thanks for trying the filters. From what other members have said, the filters aren't as effective or easy to use. I would also agree - it's easier to see questions on the 'homepage', if that makes sense. But, this could be because I/we're not used to using them.

I would encourage the admins and Healthunlocked/NCT to look at some recent postings regarding the "Am I pregnant?" posts (if you/they haven't already?). Recently there has been:

Someone who thinks they might be pregnant because she slept in the same bed as her Dad.

Someone who has a bigger stomach since 'dry humping'

Someone who dreamt that God made her pregnant.

To me, this is trolling/pranking. These people are ignoring any information given regarding pregnancy, etc, and heading straight to post. This is why members are upset and leaving and why we don't think the posts belong on the National Childbirth Trust forum.

Admittedly, some of the replies from the long-term NCT members are fuelling the fire, which I don't agree with. However, I can understand why they're posting their frustrations.

I hope you don't think I'm trying to hassle you/Healthunlocked/NCT, but I am also speaking on behalf of other members as well as myself.

Would an admin/representative be prepared to create a question/post on this topic, to save me acting as a messenger? That way, other people's views can be read instead of being condensed into an email?

This site wasn't like this 6 months ago so what has changed? I mean how are these idiots finding this site now? It seems to be a lot of American ignorant young girls posting these stupid questions so how on earth are they finding this site in particular - NCT has to look into this! It is very upsetting to me, as someone who used this site during pregnancy and loved hearing everyone's advice and learning from others experience that is has come to this. NCT has to change how this site is found via google etc it is a disgrace what is being allowed to happen to this amazing forum!

in reply toLovestar

I couldn't agree more! Definitely seems to be American - mentions of 'Spring Break', etc.

I was looking forward to sharing my birth story on here, but not sure if I'll last that long! X

I'm new to this site, 12 weeks pregnant and first scan due today. Although it's a shame to have to sift through all the ridiculous posts from people would should either do a pregnancy test or go read a biology book, I've found a lot of the genuine posts and responses from people really comforting. Please don't leave yet, your input is helping us!!xx
