Horrible nausea - When will it end?

I'm really struggling at the minute. I'm on 3 different anti sickness medications, and yet the nausea just won't fade.

I'm 11w+4 today, and earlier this week I started to feel like I had times in the day I could manage a bit better, then by mid-week it suddenly got so much worse again and I almost can't get out of bed. I am stuck working from home at the minute, and it takes every ounce of energy I have to work 8-5, and have to nap during my lunch break just to cope with my day.

Why was it improving then got worse again? Is that normal?

You’re so close to 12 weeks so hopefully once you enter the second trimester things will start calming down, the only other thing I can suggest is talking to your GP to rule out hyperemersis, best of luck to you xx

Since I'm not actually vomiting they have told me I don't have HG, but definitely agree this isn't your run of the mill morning sickness.

I really hope you're right and that when I hit my second trimester things improve because I honestly can't keep going like this.

Have you tried cyclizine? I get horrendous nausea and vomiting with my endometriosis and I’ve tried about 6 different anti sickness meds but cyclizine is the only one that works, if this continues though, I’d ask work if you could say have longer breaks and work later into the night like 8 - 7 or reduce your days just to give your body a rest and a break, but don’t forget to try and eat and drink even if that’s constantly nibbling on dry salted crackers and juice to try and chill the nausea out xx

Cyclizine is one of 3 anti sickness meds I'm on at the minute and I'm still suffering. I haven't told work yet about the pregnancy. Waiting until after my 12 week scan on Monday to do so. Then I might ask for a bit of leeway. Thanks for the suggestion!

It should stop or start to wear of by 12/13 weeks. Mine stopped at 13 weeks, I lived on apple juice and mints and found that helped. But it did return 3rd trimester on and off x

I really hope you're right. Does the tiredness also fade?

Mine did slightly in the 2nd trimester. I’m a healthcare assistant and was doing 50 hours a week days and nights. But the tiredness came back in the 3rd trimester, if you can, sleep whenever you can x

I’m 8+6 and I can honestly say I feel awful.

I literally feel nauseous all day long - but like you, not actually being sick.

I’ve been sleeping for 12 hours - lucky to be working from home and getting away with it really.

I didn’t realise you could take anti nausea tablets, nobody wants to see me about this pregnancy at all until the 12 week scan so it’s been quite a lonely road so far 😕

speak to your doctor and insist on them. One of the GPs at my practice refused to help me until I ended up in A&E with dehydration and they were shocked I'd been left like that. They likened it to unnecessary torture. They gave me an IV and sent me home with cyclizine. That helped for a few days then I found I was worse again and managed to speak to someone else at the practice who has been trying different options with me.

It's quite sad being fobbed off like that but you absolutely can take anti nausea meds so please insist

Hi I’ve been pregnant 4 times and I’m now pregnant again i suffered with sickness up to 12 week each time except my last which sadly I ended up loosing I’d say the sickness is a very good sign and you might just need another anti sickness though I’ve been through every kind of sickness tablet going and it’s not easy for the sickness to just let up sometimes when you take the tablets it can seem to be working then out of know where your vomiting again the one thing I can say calmed me a lot was sniffing lavender oil it really helped me stop feeling sick and is the only thing what calmed me down x
