Jabs...

Yesterday we went for 8 week check and jabs - and until the nurse actually jabbed him he was fine. Aww, he doesn't really cry so was quite upsetting as first time had him properly cry with little shudders cos it hurt. Even super mummy cuddles weren't enough, though he was very brave and only cried for 10 mins. When we got home had super clingy cuddles and when daddy came in I was being sulked with and tears resumed until had clingy daddy cuddles. Then had fever so gave him some calpol, bless almost passed out. Had a clingy night, would only finally settle in bed cuddling into me, and not sleeping, he's finally only just settled for a proper sleep! So grateful for such a well behaved baby. Even when he's not feeling good he's so quiet and worst behaviour is being clingy.

Question? Is the roto virus vaccination being used in England as well as Scotland? Know its new, just want to know how new. Was happy to get it as don't want John getting ill, but what you don't want to hear from a nurse when telling you what to watch out for in reactions is 'well so far we haven't had any reactions, but it is new'. Makes you feel like you've just agreed to let your child be a guinea pig! Good job daddy wasn't there as he would not have been pleased, esp as told me after given him it already x

Lol yh that's not the best thing to hear. Yep it's being used here too. Aw poor little guy. I hated James having his as he's not really a crier either but that made him really upset for a good 5 mins too and then little whimpers for a while after...next jabs next week! Only just got routine back on track from the last ones lol. With any luck he'll be sleeping through the night again by Xmas after these ones lol x

Hopefully will be. Glad we are far enough off xmas, is stressful enough! Always have to do the rounds as so and so not speaking to such and such. But may have solved that this year - just told them all you know where our door is, you can use it or not but any arguments and your out. Well sometimes family more like children than the babis lol x

Lol! That is the best way to deal with that silliness...every family has all that nonsense and I'm stuck doing the rounds this year on boxing day and the 27th....:/ x

Yeah Hugo hated the Rota virus! Made him gip!! Think it's pretty new here too! Did they advise you to keep him away from people with low immune system such as people having cancer treatment etc for 2 weeks after? I only say this as my friends LO had hers and she mentioned going to see her grandma a few days after and I knew she was poorly, so I told her and the nurse never told her!!! Xx

awwwrrh! bless him

Im personally not looking forward to my Lil one 's 1st set of jabs in a few weeks time as when my son had his he used to get proper miserable & had a really bad case of diarrhoea a few days after too. :(

My finley didn't like the rota virus either although aparantly they r meant too as its sweet. He screamed for 5 mins but it made him drowsy...I had calpol at the ready but he didnt need it so am hoping the next ones r ok too..he had a few currified nappies but other than tht nothing. X

Well we haven't had a poo today yet, but that's quite normal. Hes been a bit narly but mostly just wants cuddles and sleep. He wasn't to bad taking rota virus stuff, just pulled a face. Was def the jabs that upset him, sulked with me too. Wanted mummy cuddles, but wouldn't look at me. And when daddy came in didn't even want cuddles :( . Yeah, was told about immune system thing. Good job as my mum going into hospital at end of the week. Not looking forward to his next ones - they'll be right after xmas hols x

Lol, you both have strange babys - on saying that John much preferred that to the calpol - don't think he likes cherry flavour x

in reply tojoda

Lol. Personally, I love calpol!!! The strawberry flavour is gooooood. I'd eat it like a sweet if that wasn't so wrong lol x

Ceanna also loves a bit of gripe water when I give her some, im sure she even gives me a Lil smile when she swallows it

LOL

Eoin just had his 2nd lot last week and he was so so upset! My mum came with me saying oh he'll be fine and she was worse than me! After first jab he was crying so much and holding his breath - she didn't even let him catch his breath before 2nd jab. I would actually describe it as traumatic! Much worse than first ones for some reason.

Eoin also loved the oral vaccine, she reeled him in with that before jabbing him!

Poor little babies xxx

bless. Think will be worse next time cos they know whats coming. I'm taking him on my own as know how everyone would react. Particularly daddy, if he'd been there wouldn't have had the second jab, he was bad enough seeing him crying 3 hours after... bless men x
