Oh dear I've not heard of this and only 3 weeks left at the most if I go 2 weeks over!! Possibly a bit late for me!

I'd check with your Midwife but either way can't imagine taking Pregnacare will do any harm!

My midwife has not mentioned this to me, although I drink a lot of milk. I am sure if u eat foods that are rich in these qualities then u shudnt need pregnacare.

When I found out I was pregnant I saw nutritionist straight away as I was on a paleo/caveman diet for the past two years and with this diet or life style some foods are quite limited. He put me on a pregnancy care max tablets just to make sure I take enough calcium for the baby's needs as I didn't have much milk products. I am 29 weeks now and still taking them. As the above comments I think it is worth to talk to your midwife but I have read and also heard from a lot of ppl that folic acids is good to be taken throughout of the pregnancy and extra calcium too.

Hope that helps a bit :-)

I still take pregnacare...they are the ones designed for throughout the whole pregnancy. It's the most consistent I've been taking vits in my life (seeing as its not just for my benefit anymore) so I'm reluctant to ever let them go haha!! But I've upped my milk intake a little as I have noticed a little weakness in my teeth lately as the baby sucks me dry of calcium lol!

I didnt know this...I thought folic acid stops at 12weeks and that was what my midwife told me at my booking appointment. I have my 16 week appointment next week so I'll ask her then if there are any suppliments I should be taking, although i dont think calcium will be much of a problem as baby has me craving banana milkshakes lol. Thanks for the info babymother :) xx

My diet has been pretty crap to be honest but I stopped taking my pregnacare after 4 months cos I kept forgetting so I've started taking them again! Not A great lover of fruit and not been eating enough veg really !

Ooooooo, thanks for highlighting this. I stopped taking pregnancy vitamins at 13 weeks as they were making me really constipated :(

Im now 26+ and just trying to get by on a healthy diet. I always intended to start taking again to help with breastfeeding but perhaps I'll start in the next couple of week.

What supplements do people recommend? I used the santogen mum-to-be before and it didn't like me!

xXx

I take Pregnacare Original and it seems to be doing the trick :-)
