I'm 25+5 and I have been diagnosed with gestational diabetes. Does anyone have any experiences they can share? So far I've only seen the diabetes clinic who have shown me how to test my blood sugar levels. I don't really know what to expect next.

Hiya huni I myself had gestational diabetes so I can tell you my experience if it helps., I was diagnosed at 25 weeks. I had to check my blood sugar 4 times a day which was a right pain. I had to monitor how much sugar I was eating and drinking and had to adjust my diet which I found hard because I love my sweet stuff. I had more hospital appointments as time went on. I was able to control my sugar levels until I got to 33 weeks then they went high, so the hospital put me on a drug called metformin. This kept my sugar levels stable. I had growth scans every 2 weeks from 28 weeks onwards until I delivered. My scans showed my son was growing normally even with my sugar levels being high. They induced me at 38+4 days my gorgeous boy was born 6 hours after one dose of prostin. He's now 13 weeks old and doing really well. When he was born he wouldn't feed much and his sugar levels were really low so he had to be fed with a tube going from his nose into his tummy, but only for 24hrs. They checked his sugar levels every couple of hours so expect your little one to have bruised heels. It's not nice but must be done. I hope this helps huni. There's nothing to worry about and trust me it will be worth it in the end. My baby boy eats and eats and eats now I can't fill him up. He was born 6lb 4oz, so don't worry if you think your going to end up having a big baby because mine was a nice healthy weight. Take care and good luck xxx
