Whooping Cough...

I'm booked in to have the whooping cough vaccine tomorrow, in the last few days I have developed a tickly cough that is starting to turn a bit chesty, can I still get the vaccine? trying to contact my GP to ask is like pulling teeth! I tried to get the flu jab in December when i was 12 weeks but they wouldnt to it as i had a slight fever, wondered if it would be the same for the whooping cough?

Quite possibly, guess if you cannot get through you'll have to go and see if they'll do it. Pain in butt am sure! Do you get that find at specific time in pregnancy? My midwife not discussed vaccine with me and I am not seeing her for another 3 weeks I think x

My midwife never mentioned the vaccine to me either. I thought it was the midwife that administered it but I was wrong about that. I can't remember when the window to get it done is. From week 28 - 38 or thereabouts? Someone else might be more accurate about it. x

Yeah if i cant get in touch with them ill have no other option! :o(

You are advised to have the vaccine between 28 and 38 weeks x

I had a suspected UTI and was on antibiotics when I originally booked my whooping cough vaccine and unfortunately was advised not to have it until post the pills. I stupidly didn't book my vaccine until week 36 and just about managed to get it done on the nose of week 38 after the course of antibiotics was had. Doctors surgeries are notorious for being interesting to get through to via phone! Hope you get a response soon. xxx
