can anyone help with a little advice?

I am 7 1/2 years post surgery, chemo and pelvic radiation. I have suddenly developed some bleeding which may be PV. I have many prd symptoms but this has never been one of them.

anyone else experienced this?

really missing Jo’s trust right now 😢

Hi Msdoubtfire

I'm nearly 8 years post cc treatment; very similar to you time wise.

About 2-3 years post treatment I had a vaginal bleed. An MRI showed normal results and I was told the radiotherapy had caused blood vessels on the vaginal wall to be fragile hence prone to bleeding. Treatment was regular use of a vaginal moisturiser which helped.

About 4-5 years post treatment had a bleed whilst self catherising (my treatment caused urinary retention). A cystoscopy showed telangiectasia, so like the vagina fragile blood vessels. I was prescribed with topical oestrogen cream to be applied round the urethral opening and intravaginally. I've been using the cream ever since, no problems and am generally more comfortable 'down there'.

I've had many episodes of rectal bleeding ever since completion of treatment, albeit less so with time. Two colonoscopies have concluded I have radiation proctitis - again fragile blood vessels which can bleed easily.

I sought medical advice for all (vagina, urethra, rectal) first bleeding episodes. l hope all goes well for you, any bleeding can be so triggering. I'm also missing Jo's Trust!
