I am scheduled to have rectal prolapse repair having previously had a hysterectomy and radiotherapy. The surgery was not keyhole. I am concerned about outcomes. Has anyone else had similar?

Hi 👋

Although I’ve not had the surgery you are having I have had several major surgeries since my radiotherapy, one emergency and two elective. Both elective surgeries I recovered from quickly and although I have a lot of adhesions, the surgeries themselves were done without any issues. I just wanted to share my experience to reassure you that things can go smoothly.

If you are worried I would definitely voice your concerns to your consultant and ask any questions you can think of.

Wishing you all the best for your surgery x
