If you were to choose three songs (any) to describe yourself. Which would you choose? Here's mine
"The Fool on The Hill" Beatles
"I'm No Hero" 5 Finger Death Punch
"Desperado" Eagles

I wouldn’t choose it to describe myself, but I like anything by the Eagles. 🙂👍
Same here! However, I've heard "Hotel California" more times than I'd care to...
I’ve got some old cassettes and CD’s which I haven’t listened to for ages, thanks for reminding me. I particularly like Desperado, Tequila Sunrise and One of these nights. 🙂
Me too- if a song is played a lot it puts me off it
As my name is Maria it would have to be 'How do you Solve a Problem like Maria' from the Sound of Music- well that's what my brother would say 😂
Well, one would be Box of Rain by Grateful Dead but only because I’m playing it at the moment and I love it. Unfair to start a music post when I’m off to bed. Early shift tomorrow😔
Such is life in different time zones..🙃
You a Dead Head then ???
Not really but I am sometimes in the mood for certain songs by them. You won’t believe me if I tell you as I write I am listening to the Butthole Surfers. I have eclectic tastes. I should also be sleeping but I as you know can’t resist any posts about music😊
Never heard of them I'm in bed with classic FM on the radio at the moment 😁
No one has unless they are weird like me. But then I am a Frank Zappa fan😊
My mate, who's a Zappa fan will probably know them. I'll ask him
I've heard the grop name but not their music... Zappa YAAASS!
Water melon in Easter hay - ahhhhh. I shall drift off listening to that😌
I'm still a fan of Bow Tie Daddy. And It Can't Happen Here...
I will have to pursue this conversation another time as sleep beckons. I could wax lyrical all night. Absolutely love Zappa. Such a talented bloke who told it like it was😊
I’m not a huge Zappa fan but some songs are just great. Dinah Moe Hum 😂No doubt the man had serious talent!!
I haven’t listened to them in a long time! I’m going to play some at work today ☺️
I hope it brings you much joy😊
You must let me know what you played. Today during my work break, I was in the mood for Silver Jews and the late, great David Berman with a little Jeffrey Lewis added in for good measure😊
I’m currently listening to a new band for me and so far I like it. When the gloom becomes sound by Tribulation.
I listened today to: Butthole Surfers, Vanilla Fudge, The Guess Who, Traffic, Black Sabbath, The Doors, and Stephen Stills.
Not Dogbowl? Haha. The Fugs? But your choices for today were excellent. I was playing Traffic just the other day👍
Now that you’ve seen some my taste in music, I’d love suggestions.
Try Sleep Dirt by Frank Zappa for starters. Only because I’m playing it now😂I will have a think but did consider perhaps The Brian Jonestown Massacre? Bit left field
Thank you. I'll give them both a listen!
Free. Fire and Water. I can’t belief how young Paul Kossoff was when he played guitar on this.
That's one I have and know very well!
Just listened to it again. It’s really good and never seems to age. What about early Hawkwind and Gong. Familiar with them
I am familiar with Hawkwind, I like a lot of their material. I picked up, some time ago, The Chronicle of the Black Sword and I love it! I have also listened to Gong, though they never really caught on with me. I love old 70's prog, especially bands I've only discovered in the last 10 years or so. Late 60's and early 70's psych is great too. I remember I found this YouTube video that was a few hours long of nothing but live Krautrock from the 70's killer stuff!
That’s my favourite piece of classical music. 🙂👍
And mine!!!!
One of my favorites.❤️🏄♀️
A Love Song-Loggins and Messina and White Rabbit-Jefferson Airplane. A third song? Well, I’m not that complicated. (Not a song) 😁
Could have fooled me😉
Love White Rabbit. And not just because I'm MadBunny 😁
Sorry so long getting back to you, M. I read the story of white rabbit. Even though it was recorded during the times of the sixties drug culture, Gracie slick the recording artist said it wasn’t written with drugs in mind. Open to interpretation. I like the story sans drugs. ❤️🏄♀️
It was based upon Alice in Wonderland and more about the issues ( then and now) of reaching puberty...as I recall.
😁😁😁😁❤️🏄♀️
I didn't know that.
He was an interesting person. I also like Piano Concerto no. 2 by Dimitri Shostakovitch.
I love Shos...(can't spell it) 2nd Waltz too. Have a look at YouTube for some great videos of it. The gorgeous Sean Bean is in one of them Didn't know he could dance.
Ooh I'll have to look for that. I like Sean Bean. A fellow Sheffield United supporter, too 😁
He certainly was! Loved him in Lord of the Rings too. 😍
And he was in Lady Chatterley's Lover 😊
Ooer will have to watch that. I am going to have a certain kind of dream tonight! 😍🤣
Apparently he has a Sheff Utd tattoo which had to be covered up with makeup 😁
Where I don't know .😂
Will let you know if I find out in my dream.....😁🤣
🤣🤣I found the video clip of the waltz. Loved it thanks. Was it from Anna Karenina?
Not sure as I haven't seen that film. He is actually in 2 of the videos there. One is shorter and is mainly him and a woman, and the other is a large group and you catch a glimpse of him a couple of times. That is amazing though.
I love it. 🙂🙂
Fool on the hill sounds about right for me too. Also All You Need Is Love by the Beatles as I don't have any.
oh gosh I would definitely have to say Love Grows Where My Rosemary Goes. My grandpa used to sing it about me. the first line is "She aint got no money, clothes are kind of funny, her hair is kind of wild and free" lol
Rumor had it at the time, that ROSEMARY is a DOG 😃
Depeche mode, Enjoy the silence. Iron Maiden, The Trooper and Linkin park, In the end. I have a varied taste in music but rock orientated.
Great choices, but what an impossible question! I'd go for Sarah Jane Morris' I am A Woman, Love Me Love My Dog, Peter Shelley and Golden Brown, The Stranglers which is imprinted on my soul. Desperado is a favourite and makes me weep, once in a while. Love the Eagles but I Can't Tell You Why x PS I give in - need to add 'Wouldn't Treat A Dog' - The Hamsters version for any of you that know it but Bobby Bland if you don't!
I’m in the west suburbs of Chicago. 😁
1) Doctor My Eyes- Jackson Browne2)Bird on a Wire- Leonard Cohen
3) Forever Young-Bob Dylan
The Forever Young title is a great one to describe yourself by. I would hope to retain a fairly youthful attitude.Mind you when I start trying out the moves to a lively song - rock e.g my teenager and young adult children get sooooo embarrassed and make me stop
😘
'Misunderstood'. by The Animals
'I Get Knocked Down, but I Get up Again '
'The Walk of Life' by Dire Straits
I'm not sure which songs would describe me exactly, but "The Fear" by Pulp has long been a personal anthem, certainly a part of the soundtrack to my sorry, neurotic existence.
