It's the Day Before School starts (in Non Covid times) and there has been 'Murder Most Foul'.... one of the 'Ancillary' Workers has been found 'Done In', by the Bike Sheds...Time for 'SheerLuck' to investigate. The only People in the School, at the time were The Teacher, The Handyman, The Gardener and The Cook. So Sheerluck, And PC Plodd, interview the Suspects.....
The Gardener says "Well oy Waz Plantin' Or'l th' Day. Gotta do the Plantin, else no-one can Eat".
The Teacher said "Well actually I was Marking Exam Papers, The whole time, I'm afraid."
The Cook said "Me? Oh well, Me... I was in the Kitchen, Where else would a Cook be?"
The Handyman said "To be Honest, I'm not too sure, there are So Many 'Bits' to Sort out, in SO little time... Could have been anywhere."
Sheerluck immediately Arrested.... The Teacher, how come?
You have a Small Boat, able to 'take' you and ONE other 'thing' across the river. Your Problem is that you need to safely 'cross' A Bird, A Cat and A Fox. If you leave the Bird & The Cat, the BIRD gets eaten. If you Leave The Fox& The Cat. the CAT gets eaten. You can safely leave the Bird And Fox together however. Equally, the animals will NOT attack, each other, when you are present.
How can you Safely 'Cross' all three?
You find yourself in a Strange Room- I'm not going to 'worry' too much, how you got there. In front of you are Three Doors.
One Door, leads to a Never Ending Labyrinth- in which you will slowly die.
The second Door leads to a Lion's Den and the Lions haven't been Fed for months.
The Third Door leads to the ocean, the nearest Land is Many miles away- much too far to swim.... and there is No boat either.
Which Door will you use, and why?
Again you are 'Trapped', this time in a Castle (I'll let you 'Fill In' the story, up to this point). This time there are Only Two Doors, both with a 'Robot' outside each. One Door leads to Freedom (not only from the Castle, but also from these Riddles!) the other 'gives' Instant Death.
One Robot ALWAYS tells the TRUTH, the other ALWAYS LIES. you can ask either Robot only ONE question, to secure your Freedom. What is it? (This Riddle CAN be solved, it is not a Trick).

So for the second one you have to take the cat first then the fox then the bird for the second one you ignore the guard that lies . For the first one the teacher got arrested because she said that she was marking papers but those markings might have been made by blood

ok so for the cat, bird, fox problem. You take the cat first to the other side. Then you go back and get the bird and take it to the other side with the cat. But then you bring the cat back to the side with the fox. Then you bring the fox over to the other side with the bird. And so finally you can go back and get the cat and bring it over.
Take the cat and cross over with it. Leave the cat at the destination and return to fetch the rest. Take the bird on your next trip and bring it to where the cat is. When you are leaving, bring the cat with you and leave the bird alone on the other side. Return and drop the cat and pick up the fox and cross over to where the bird is. Leave fox and bird together. Return to collect the cat.

The three doors: Take the lions option - the story says they haven't been fed for months, so they'll be dead by now. Question to ask either robot: "If I ask the OTHER robot which is the door to freedom, which one would be tell me?" And then choose the opposite door to the one indicated. Reason is, the liar would lie about the truth-teller's answer, and the truthteller would tell you what the liar would say. I thought about the teacher one - could be the false alibi of marking exams (day before term starts = no exams to mark), but if the teacher's got work to catch up from last term, could be true. Brain needs a rest after that

For the first you take the fox and let the bird fly across the river leaving the cat alone then go back for it. The second was the teacher said she was marking papers but school hadn’t started so there would be no papers to mark. For the one with three doors you go back through the door you came into the room from. You ask one robot if he tells lies if he does he will say no he doesn’t but the robot who never lies will say that the other robot is lying.
Well the teacher would not have exam papers to mark the day before school starts.
The teacher was arrested because the teacher said “I’m afraid?” That’s my best guess. Not sure about the second one. The third I’d probably go with swimming.
