I want to sincerely apologise to anyone who may have taken offense at my comments on a very popular thread. I'm not exactly sure what I said in particular to upset anyone, but I did state some of my opinions on American politics, which may have been the problem. I did comment on COVID. Perhaps it wasn't my place to get involved in a discussion about the lockdown in the UK. I honestly don't know, but I know many people commented on the thread and people remember usernames. The entire health unlocked community is very important to me. You've all been so helpful and supportive, and lifted my spirits often. Even when I post nothing. It's really concerning me, beyond what it should I think, that anyone may have been upset. I'm no longer posting on thread so I'm posting this. I kinda feel silly doing it, but here it goes.

You didn’t offend anyone in my opinion
I think I must've, the person who said i was warned said I was rambling a bit, but no other reason cited. So I'm still not sure what it was. If it was enuff to say i was warned then it had to be significant. Guess I'm not gonna know exactly what it was, but don't want the community to think I have any ill intent.
lovemydoggy....... With respect,
HealthUnlocked has a policy that politics and religion should not be mentioned, because everyone has different thoughts on the subjects and this community is about encouraging and supporting each other, not creating negative responses
Thank you. I'd seen posts before that regarded politics so I didn't realize it was a policy. I appreciate you telling me though. I read a comment you made about going to your step son's funeral. So sorry for your loss. Travel safely Veteran.
Didn't see post but thought politics was forbidden on health unlocked and if they do come up sometimes it's best not to comment because of diverse opinions although that is your choice to comment or not but does make you feel less vulnerable if you just scroll past things like that
Must have been that. In the US it's a tense election and there was some discussion of that. Although, it was refreshing to see nobody being horrible to each other like they are in the US. Here masks have become a political statement. That's where my comments involved politics I think. Anyway, thanks for the clarification!
I for one wasn't offended by any comment that you made as you probably know keep reading and posting and don't take any nasty comments personally 👍xx
Good to know!
I actually didn't get a warning. I just got a response that I was warned. That's what really threw me off. So i did pm the person and asked, but didn't get an answer except that I was rambling. Funny, there were some slightly contentious comments (pretty sure I didn't make any) and I wondered a bit about those. I was careful to try to be gracious about the safety of mask wearing although there was someone who disagreed saying they weren't effective. We both were respectful of each other. Oh well, at least I've, hopefully, made it clear I'm not out to offend anyone and will respect everyone's right to an opinion whether it be mask wearing or vaccines. ....tho now I'm a bit afraid the post my opinions on it. Guess I just did in this comment didn't I? I'll be so glad when we can all just converse without worry of offending people. I never thought about it before. Weird.
Don't worry about it. I haven't read what you were supposed to have said. But I bet that you are worrying over nothing. We all have our own opinions, as long as we don't get abusive or cause embarrassment to people, I can't see any harm in expressing your opinion. I think that we should all wear masks and keep a safe distance from other people. A lot of people don't seem to be worried about it,but I am. So that's my opinion..A few months ago our next door neighbour passed away with the Coronaviru's. Then 2 days later our Daughter in Law's Uncle passed away with the Virus. But then 2 weeks after that our Daughter in Law's Brother's young Wife passed away with the Coronaviru's, leaving behind her Husband and 2 Little girls. But the worst thing for us was when our Little Greatgranddaughter called Ava caught the Covid 19. She was very I'll for a while ,but she's back home now with her Daddy. She's only 8 years old, but she's a little fighter, and she beat it, Thank God. 🙏.Everyone on the Forum said prayers and support for our Darling Ava and our Family. They really helped me and gave me support.to which I am so grateful for. I try not to get involved in Politics or Religion, because like my Dad told me years ago, nobody could win if it gets out of hand,it's not worth it.As well as him being a wise Man, he was my Dad. Don't feel bad. This is a good Forum. The people on here have helped me out such a lot. So don't you leave here. They are all good people. 👍
Oh, I'm so sorry for your losses. I can't imagine what you've been through. Thank God your girl is ok. I'm also quite careful myself. I think many don't worry much as they haven't been personally affected or don't fully realize how bad it can be. In my mind being "at risk" equates with being human. Even children, as you can unfortunately attest to, are susceptible. Virtual hugs! ❤️
Yes I think that every Human is at risk from this Virus. Some are just so irresponsible, it's unbelievable. I think that everyone caught ignoring the safety rules, should be put in the Ward where the Coronaviru's patients are for a couple of hours, let them see what the patient's are going through. Also how heartbreaking it can be for the medical Team. Perhaps then they will sit up and take notice. Our Middle Son have been sent home from work, because his bosses Wife called Nerys have been tested Positive for the Coronaviru's .She works in the Royal Gwent Hospital. Our Son and his Boss actually work together doing drug testing. Our Son's Wife is a carer for the Elderly. I just hope that Nerys has a mild form of the Virus and our Son his Wife and his Boss are all okay. 🤞👍 Take Care and Stay Safe.🤗 Hugs 🤗
I hope they'll be ok too! I agree with you. People should have to see it for a couple of hours. For most I'd hope it would sink in. For the life of me I don't understand why people just ignore the rules. It's one thing if it only could affect that person, but putting other peoples life and health at risk is beyond my comprehension. They would feel horrible if they were responsible for someone else who dued or had severe long lasting damage. One would hope so. You stay safe and well too.
BTW, every time I see your username I think I've posted. My dog's name is Dexter and it's a name I've used before. 😅
Nah I’m not offended
Thara you're the person who iddued the warning in as much as you said "you have been warned, no?
wrong post
Ah, that explains it. Thanks for the clarification.
I hope that people are more careful now when warning people and that they address them correctly, you were clearly very distraught about this and I'm happy that the clarification has made you feel better xx
Thank you malmal. ❤️
Never heard of a jug. Granddaughter has a pugalier! My turn to walk him today. 👍
Issued*
Me neither. Love to see a pic of that!
He’s like a pug but with a slightly longer nose and long legs. Never thought either were noted for their speed but Bodhi is like a greyhound and you can’t tire him out.
Hi Hylda, my Granddaughter and her Husband breeds thourabread Pugs. Trouble is she will only sell them to Friends or Family because she's always afraid that they might get i'll treated. It absolutely hilarious in their house when anyone goes to visit. Here a Pug, There a Pug, Everywhere a Pug,Pug. Pug's just everywhere you go. When they take them for a walk, their leads get tangled up. OMG. Its side splitting. I just Love them. Our Granddaughter and her Husband have got 6 of them now. Their house belongs to the Pugs.🤗.
Bodhi was given to our granddaughter to be company for Tilly our great granddaughter who has special needs. Tilly is really not bothered with him but he is great company for our granddaughter. Her husband walked out and left her with two under three but she has gone to uni and just got her Midwifery degree. I’m keeping away from the children at the moment but love walking the dog
Hi Hylda, I remember you telling me about Tilly before. Fancy walking out just like that, I hope that he gets his just desert's. 🤼♂️🤼♂️ Goodluck to your Granddaughter she's done well for herself. 👍 I bet you're proud of her. 🤗. I'd love to be able to go for a walk with the dogs .But I've been housebound for nearly 6 years. The only time that I go out is to the hospital or the Doctor's.. Take Care and Stay Safe.
Oh my goodness 6 years is a long time, I really feel for you. I hope and pray once this lockdown is over you can quickly reunite with your family. x
Thank's Hylda. I just want to get rid of some of this pain. Because I've got to be a miserable old bugger lately because of all this pain. Then I can get back to being me again and enjoy being with my Family, who I miss so very much. Take Care and Stay Safe. 🤞 xx
How’s Ava now? Our 18 year old grandson has just gone down with it and he’s quite poorly xx
And our son now
Oh Hylda ,I'm so very sorry. Have they been tested for the Coronaviru's. You must be so worried about them. I hope they get fit and well very soon. This bloody Virus don't care who it attacks .You take care of yourself and keep us posted on how they are both doing .xx
Both tested positive. Will our grandson quite poorly , our son not too bad yet!
Hi Hylda, do you know where your Grandson caught it from. We assume that our Little Ava caught it in School, but not sure. You can catch it anywhere when you think of it. Is your Grandson still at home, or in hospital. Hope that they both get better soon. Gotta go now, my phone gotta go on charge. xx
He caught it from a friend. My daughter in law was a nurse so she has nursed him at home. He says he’s feeling better but it’s early days. Son was due a cardio version on 17/11 but doesn’t come out of isolation until 16th. Praying they don’t put it off xx
I shouldn't think that they'll put it off. Hopefully not.🤞 Will say a prayer for you and your Family 🙏💕
Thank you xx
Hi Hylda, I said a little prayer for you, your Son and your Grandson. Sending Love and virtual Hugs. 🤗xx
Thank you so very much xx
Hylda, you don't have to thank me. I will say a prayer every night,🙏 until you say that they are both better. It takes a while, makes you feel very weak. Much worse than the ordinary Flu. .Godbless you all .Take Care.xx
Will’s temperature has broken but he still has no sense of taste. Our son Nick is a worry because of his current AF but taking blood thinners ready for CV so hopefully he won’t suffer complications from blood clots xx
Good for her! What a creep he is to adandon his family!
Thanks for stepping up to the plate anyway lovemydoggy. I didn't read your comments but it's the right thing to do to apologise if you think you have upset anyone. And always worth checking the guidelines once in a while to be sure you are within them. Again, thank you for your apology.
I never want to offend. Apparently, the post about being warned was meant for simeone else so that's a relief. I agree when in doubt we need to apologise. And when knowingly saying something that I've posted may be out of line apologies are crucial. There's too much anger out there. This is a place to escape it. I love this forum. It's been wonderful for me!
So glad to hear love my doggy 👍
Hi,
I don't know what thread you're referring to... I've learned that the people here are incredibly understanding, even when upset.
Hey! You love your doggy??? Aha!!! And I love my two angels as well!!! Dogs are old souls that are unconditional in their ability to provide true acceptance. Mine save my life.
Hi, never saw what you said but this is a country of free speech, I may not always agree with what is said but I will support the right to say it. In these strange times people seem to be looking for something, anything to take offence at. Don’t feel bad, you are OK, rise above it.
I hope you liked the reply from velvet sky
I think we are all sick and tired of identity politics being thrust down our throats by the media -meaning we all feel scared of opening our mouth for fear of offending someone -ridiculous -the pendulum has gone too far
Make today a lovely day don’t sweat the small stuff we all care for your good health and worrying leads to cortisol issues and many of us know where that can take us
Don’t we?
Yes I do feel better. It seems it wasn't me the poster was referring to anyway. You make an excellent point. It's so ridiculous out there that we can be afraid of opening our mouths. In the US political climate some families are actually not speaking anymore and friendships are ended. Then you throw in COVID and now that's all mixed up with politics. So much so that I won't tell anyone I'm taking Hydroxychlroquine. I haven't been on it that long and when I told a couple of friends and a family member suddenly just the name of a drug for my condition became political or a lecture on the miracles of it and how it could cure COVID, along with a host of other diseases This family member has zero medical education. Now I'm rambling, but YIKES! It's all gone beyond ridiculous.
I think Velvetsky and Legoparis have summed it up for you...today is a new day, and this is a great forum to be a member of... the sun is shining ( well, in Suffolk ) , and the garden is calling... so have a lovely day ❤🙏
I didn't see the post you refer to but it probably wasn't as bad as one or two of the very rude and insulting comments I have seen on this site. All the best.
It is a policy on this group that politics must be avoided,as it causes division and sets friend against friend.Of course everyone has opinions but best to keep clear and i do understand your worries. Frankly it did'nt bother me unduly, but we must adhere to the guidelines.
Best to move on from this now, enjoy the day and keep well. Wishing the best of health to everyone in challenging times across the world and in their own personal challenges too. Please smile within and to others.
No offence taken at all, free speech and all that.
Anyone who loves his doggy is alright with me 🥰
We are all adults here. Politics and religion are as much a part of life as health and disease. I took no offense with your post. Don’t be afraid to express yourself. Here of all places you should be afforded the ability to be honest with yourself and us. Thanks. Tony
Hello lovemydoggy
I do not recall your post, so not offended. Unfortunately the CV-19 has been turned into a political football in US. People are assessing blame to drive politics, instead of doing what they can to protect themselves. Blessings.
Not particularly your fault, but we try to keep Heath Unlocked a Politics and religion free zone. You were commenting on a thread I was active on also, with that anti vax person.
Cheers, Midori
Yes, that was it. I read your posts as well. Seemed we had a discussion with that person and the anti-vax person was misinformed. I didn't read anything in that thread that was offensive. Overall, it was very civil imo. Some strong opinions, but that was the spirit of the post. Bottom line is we all, no matter where we are in the world or what we think of our respective governments and their approach to COVID, we want our lives back and wish terribly that COVID would be eradicated.
I agree, I admit, I dearly wanted to call him an idiot, but restrained myself to sticking with the research and facts!
Cheers, Midori
Mix of pug and cavalier king charles spaniel?
Yes
My daughter has a chorkie, we could play "guess the designer dog name game😂) xx
Never heard of that one. Downstairs flat is going to buy a cavapoo! 🤞
Chihuahua - yorkie, I guess a cavapoo must be something poodle but I have no idea what! xx
King Charles spaniel.
At the very least I feel that lovemydoggie should receive an apology, she became very distressed due to another members carelessness! xx
Oh you're so nice. I don't need the person to apologize. It's enough to see how people have responded to my post. Again proving how supportive this community is. I really appreciate the thought though.
Well as long as you're happy now, I'm sure we'd all love to see a photo of your doggy🤗
He is in the picture with me. A bit shaggy, but there's my doggy!
Can just about see him they're so pretty and silky coats😊I have a little yorkie girl, she's badly in need of a trim😳bit like myself really 😂xx
Oh, I love Yorkies. Dexter is a bit shaggy in the picture and I am too with the wind, but the picture makes me feel good remembering a special get away to yhe coast. Don't know when I'll be able to go again in these COVID times. My little baby had to get COVID haircuts from me for a while as we were quarantined. Poor thing. He's getting properly groomed now. 🐶
Thank you.
I didn't see your comment, but I guess it's good for us to be reminded to avoid mentioning politics or religion. I live in the U.S., where we're going crazy because of our election and Covid problems. People are really quick to get offended about anything!
Yesterday I went to an off-leash dog park with a friend and her Labrador Retriever. Another woman showed up with her very small dog and started yelling at us, "This park is for small dogs only! Get out of here! You're the most selfish people I've even seen!" As she walked away, she kept shouting over shoulder, "Selfish! Shameful! Selfish!"
Needless to say, we decided to leave. I've been to this dog park many times with my dearly departed medium-sized dog, and I've never seen anything like this. We decided to attribute this to our never-ending stressful political and health problems.
Yep. I'm in the US too. I've never seen the level of anger and outright hatred we have now in this country. I feel like I have to walk on eggshells sometimes. I hope the election will be decided sooner than later. I'm rather on edge that violence may start to break out. I really feel sorry for those processing the votes. Must be an awful lot of stress. Hats off to them though! Stay well and safe.
You look amazing 😊
You have different parks for different size dogs in the US?? In the UK all different breeds of dogs mix together! What a very bad day that woman must have been having! Take care xx
We have both, but mostly all dogs mix together. I've never seen any problems. Yes I think she must be having a bad day OR be a very disagreeable person!
I used to have 2 boxers, siblings and you'd be amazed at how many people would scoop their little dogs up into their arms and waitfor us to pass them, my 2 were the most gentle dogs you could wish to meet I have the tiny dog now and would never dream of stopping a bigger dog checking her out, she loves a bit of rough and tumble😂xx
My friend's Labrador is very gentle, well behaved, and incredibly well-trained. In fact, she's a trained guide dog (my friend is blind). So the lady with the tiny dog really had nothing to fear.
You people with dogs are very fortunate! My beloved dog passed away about a year ago and I still miss him so much.
They do bring a lot of love with them, my boxers passed away within a year of each other 9 & 10 years ago and we can laugh at the funny things they used to do now but it took a long time for us to get to that stage, I still miss them bouncing around the place xx
What breed was your boy? xx
He was a mixture of pug, cocker spaniel, and something else. He was medium sized and the most wonderful dog. He loved, loved, loved to walk! The farther the better. It's very hilly where I live and Toby got me in shape and then kept me in shape. My husband and I keep saying we'd love to have him here now that we're somewhat shut in thanks to Covid19. Toby was so healthy; he was 19 when he died. It seemed that he'd live forever and it was so hard to accept when he finally started getting sick.
The longer we have them the harder it is to say goodbye, we have a 17 Yr old Jack Russell as well as the little yorkie, he's very sick now with his kidneys but still eating well and pulling on his lead to go out, we know that his time is near and making him as comfortable as we can, it's heartbreaking xx
So sorry. It's very hard. I had a sweet girl half red healer and half basset hound. She got spleen cancer and made it 3 months after diagnosis. It was awful. We had a good 3 months together. She got really ill within a few days at the end I feel fortunate that she passed at home. Just happened. Awful to watch, but I held her and calmned her as much as I could. It's silly, but I still tell her on occasion how I miss her. She'll always be part of me.
I'm so sorry about your dog with kidney disease. My beloved Toby also had kidney failure and slowly declined. My best wishes to you and your dear dog.
Well, I finally got out my laptop as I always use my phone for HealthUnlocked. I tried to change my profile pic a few times and I couldn't do it. So as I sit here with election results in the background I thought I'd distract myself and do the password changes, etc. (I can never remember my passwords) to log in on the computer. Now I've got a picture of my Dexter and me from 2019, my last trip to the coast with my son pre-COVID.
I was just looking to see if I reacted to any comments youre apologising for but Im not there .Im sure everyone has accepted your apology
Yeah, turns out the poster who said my comments would be disabled and I was warned apparently intended to message someone else. I was perplexed as I pm'd the person to ask what I'd said and apologized. I asked for clarification and got a message I was rambling on. So that left me with more questions. Finally, she did respond to someone in this thread stating it wasn't intended for me. I'm glad someone else asked her and she clarified. It was a stern warning and just kept bothering me because I thought something I'd said was offensive. Turns out I apparently didn't offend anyone.
However, I'm glad I posted as I feel much support here, and it's been nice to chat with people. Much needed for me atm. I've got more of a sense of connection during a terribly stressful time. 🙂
