I want to sincerely apologise to anyone who may have taken offense at my comments on a very popular thread. I'm not exactly sure what I said in particular to upset anyone, but I did state some of my opinions on American politics, which may have been the problem. I did comment on COVID. Perhaps it wasn't my place to get involved in a discussion about the lockdown in the UK. I honestly don't know, but I know many people commented on the thread and people remember usernames. The entire health unlocked community is very important to me. You've all been so helpful and supportive, and lifted my spirits often. Even when I post nothing. It's really concerning me, beyond what it should I think, that anyone may have been upset. I'm no longer posting on thread so I'm posting this. I kinda feel silly doing it, but here it goes.

I think I must've, the person who said i was warned said I was rambling a bit, but no other reason cited. So I'm still not sure what it was. If it was enuff to say i was warned then it had to be significant. Guess I'm not gonna know exactly what it was, but don't want the community to think I have any ill intent.

lovemydoggy....... With respect,

HealthUnlocked has a policy that politics and religion should not be mentioned, because everyone has different thoughts on the subjects and this community is about encouraging and supporting each other, not creating negative responses

Didn't see post but thought politics was forbidden on health unlocked and if they do come up sometimes it's best not to comment because of diverse opinions although that is your choice to comment or not but does make you feel less vulnerable if you just scroll past things like that

lovemydoggy profile image
lovemydoggy in reply toAfrohair

Must have been that. In the US it's a tense election and there was some discussion of that. Although, it was refreshing to see nobody being horrible to each other like they are in the US. Here masks have become a political statement. That's where my comments involved politics I think. Anyway, thanks for the clarification!

I actually didn't get a warning. I just got a response that I was warned. That's what really threw me off. So i did pm the person and asked, but didn't get an answer except that I was rambling. Funny, there were some slightly contentious comments (pretty sure I didn't make any) and I wondered a bit about those. I was careful to try to be gracious about the safety of mask wearing although there was someone who disagreed saying they weren't effective. We both were respectful of each other. Oh well, at least I've, hopefully, made it clear I'm not out to offend anyone and will respect everyone's right to an opinion whether it be mask wearing or vaccines. ....tho now I'm a bit afraid the post my opinions on it. Guess I just did in this comment didn't I? I'll be so glad when we can all just converse without worry of offending people. I never thought about it before. Weird.

Don't worry about it. I haven't read what you were supposed to have said. But I bet that you are worrying over nothing. We all have our own opinions, as long as we don't get abusive or cause embarrassment to people, I can't see any harm in expressing your opinion. I think that we should all wear masks and keep a safe distance from other people. A lot of people don't seem to be worried about it,but I am. So that's my opinion..A few months ago our next door neighbour passed away with the Coronaviru's. Then 2 days later our Daughter in Law's Uncle passed away with the Virus. But then 2 weeks after that our Daughter in Law's Brother's young Wife passed away with the Coronaviru's, leaving behind her Husband and 2 Little girls. But the worst thing for us was when our Little Greatgranddaughter called Ava caught the Covid 19. She was very I'll for a while ,but she's back home now with her Daddy. She's only 8 years old, but she's a little fighter, and she beat it, Thank God. 🙏.Everyone on the Forum said prayers and support for our Darling Ava and our Family. They really helped me and gave me support.to which I am so grateful for. I try not to get involved in Politics or Religion, because like my Dad told me years ago, nobody could win if it gets out of hand,it's not worth it.As well as him being a wise Man, he was my Dad. Don't feel bad. This is a good Forum. The people on here have helped me out such a lot. So don't you leave here. They are all good people. 👍

Oh, I'm so sorry for your losses. I can't imagine what you've been through. Thank God your girl is ok. I'm also quite careful myself. I think many don't worry much as they haven't been personally affected or don't fully realize how bad it can be. In my mind being "at risk" equates with being human. Even children, as you can unfortunately attest to, are susceptible. Virtual hugs! ❤️

KB47 profile image
KB47 in reply tolovemydoggy

Yes I think that every Human is at risk from this Virus. Some are just so irresponsible, it's unbelievable. I think that everyone caught ignoring the safety rules, should be put in the Ward where the Coronaviru's patients are for a couple of hours, let them see what the patient's are going through. Also how heartbreaking it can be for the medical Team. Perhaps then they will sit up and take notice. Our Middle Son have been sent home from work, because his bosses Wife called Nerys have been tested Positive for the Coronaviru's .She works in the Royal Gwent Hospital. Our Son and his Boss actually work together doing drug testing. Our Son's Wife is a carer for the Elderly. I just hope that Nerys has a mild form of the Virus and our Son his Wife and his Boss are all okay. 🤞👍 Take Care and Stay Safe.🤗 Hugs 🤗

lovemydoggy profile image
lovemydoggy in reply toKB47

I hope they'll be ok too! I agree with you. People should have to see it for a couple of hours. For most I'd hope it would sink in. For the life of me I don't understand why people just ignore the rules. It's one thing if it only could affect that person, but putting other peoples life and health at risk is beyond my comprehension. They would feel horrible if they were responsible for someone else who dued or had severe long lasting damage. One would hope so. You stay safe and well too.

I think we are all sick and tired of identity politics being thrust down our throats by the media -meaning we all feel scared of opening our mouth for fear of offending someone -ridiculous -the pendulum has gone too far

Make today a lovely day don’t sweat the small stuff we all care for your good health and worrying leads to cortisol issues and many of us know where that can take us

Don’t we?

lovemydoggy profile image
lovemydoggy in reply toLegoparis

Yes I do feel better. It seems it wasn't me the poster was referring to anyway. You make an excellent point. It's so ridiculous out there that we can be afraid of opening our mouths. In the US political climate some families are actually not speaking anymore and friendships are ended. Then you throw in COVID and now that's all mixed up with politics. So much so that I won't tell anyone I'm taking Hydroxychlroquine. I haven't been on it that long and when I told a couple of friends and a family member suddenly just the name of a drug for my condition became political or a lecture on the miracles of it and how it could cure COVID, along with a host of other diseases This family member has zero medical education. Now I'm rambling, but YIKES! It's all gone beyond ridiculous.

Hello lovemydoggy

I do not recall your post, so not offended. Unfortunately the CV-19 has been turned into a political football in US. People are assessing blame to drive politics, instead of doing what they can to protect themselves. Blessings.

Yes, that was it. I read your posts as well. Seemed we had a discussion with that person and the anti-vax person was misinformed. I didn't read anything in that thread that was offensive. Overall, it was very civil imo. Some strong opinions, but that was the spirit of the post. Bottom line is we all, no matter where we are in the world or what we think of our respective governments and their approach to COVID, we want our lives back and wish terribly that COVID would be eradicated.

I didn't see your comment, but I guess it's good for us to be reminded to avoid mentioning politics or religion. I live in the U.S., where we're going crazy because of our election and Covid problems. People are really quick to get offended about anything!

Yesterday I went to an off-leash dog park with a friend and her Labrador Retriever. Another woman showed up with her very small dog and started yelling at us, "This park is for small dogs only! Get out of here! You're the most selfish people I've even seen!" As she walked away, she kept shouting over shoulder, "Selfish! Shameful! Selfish!"

Needless to say, we decided to leave. I've been to this dog park many times with my dearly departed medium-sized dog, and I've never seen anything like this. We decided to attribute this to our never-ending stressful political and health problems.

lovemydoggy profile image
lovemydoggy in reply tojudyb100

Yep. I'm in the US too. I've never seen the level of anger and outright hatred we have now in this country. I feel like I have to walk on eggshells sometimes. I hope the election will be decided sooner than later. I'm rather on edge that violence may start to break out. I really feel sorry for those processing the votes. Must be an awful lot of stress. Hats off to them though! Stay well and safe.

I used to have 2 boxers, siblings and you'd be amazed at how many people would scoop their little dogs up into their arms and waitfor us to pass them, my 2 were the most gentle dogs you could wish to meet I have the tiny dog now and would never dream of stopping a bigger dog checking her out, she loves a bit of rough and tumble😂xx

in reply tojudyb100

They do bring a lot of love with them, my boxers passed away within a year of each other 9 & 10 years ago and we can laugh at the funny things they used to do now but it took a long time for us to get to that stage, I still miss them bouncing around the place xx

judyb100 profile image
judyb100 in reply to

He was a mixture of pug, cocker spaniel, and something else. He was medium sized and the most wonderful dog. He loved, loved, loved to walk! The farther the better. It's very hilly where I live and Toby got me in shape and then kept me in shape. My husband and I keep saying we'd love to have him here now that we're somewhat shut in thanks to Covid19. Toby was so healthy; he was 19 when he died. It seemed that he'd live forever and it was so hard to accept when he finally started getting sick.

in reply tojudyb100

The longer we have them the harder it is to say goodbye, we have a 17 Yr old Jack Russell as well as the little yorkie, he's very sick now with his kidneys but still eating well and pulling on his lead to go out, we know that his time is near and making him as comfortable as we can, it's heartbreaking xx

Yeah, turns out the poster who said my comments would be disabled and I was warned apparently intended to message someone else. I was perplexed as I pm'd the person to ask what I'd said and apologized. I asked for clarification and got a message I was rambling on. So that left me with more questions. Finally, she did respond to someone in this thread stating it wasn't intended for me. I'm glad someone else asked her and she clarified. It was a stern warning and just kept bothering me because I thought something I'd said was offensive. Turns out I apparently didn't offend anyone.
