Is this for Covid sufferers as I have it and would love some advice.

I’m day 11 and still feeling pretty rough. I’d appreciate it if someone could give some guidelines.

Thank you

Hi Cockneyblue,

I would up your vitamin D levels and take a D3 supplement for a while. Eat fresh and light - have onions in as many meals as you can if not allergic to them (raw or cooked), sleep loads but also get fresh air if you can... wrap up warm and sit in the garden with a hot cuppa if you have a garden. Turmeric is a good anti-inflammatory (supplement or actual... but know that it stains boards etc when chopped). Fresh ginger is good also.

Keep to a routine of getting up at usual time if only to then curl up on the sofa with a good book, an art activity or just to snooze as this will help your mood. Plenty of fluids (not too much whisky though!! 😕). Move little and often and enjoy a warm steam bath if you can or shower and enjoy the warmth and steam... if you’ve some aroma oils to drop in or put on a cloth in the shower do so as this will help lift the feel of things for you.

A little honey to sip if you like it will help with the cough. Breath deep and slow right into the back of your lower ribs and enjoy a little meditation if you like.

All the best

Ali

I hope something in there turns out to help... I got it at the beginning of the month and although mild it kinda rumbles on in the background 😴😴

Did you have the nausea and headache. Plus no taste or smell. When did you think you were on the road to recovery. I hope you’re feeling ok now. This is very good of you to reply to me. Xx

I had sore throat first and headache. Then a chesty cough which felt like it might become a bit tricky but it settled and then suddenly became a dry cough over night. No nausea but I seemed to crave peanut butter and kept scooping a teaspoonful out of the jar for about a week. It was about day 10 when I knew that I was on the up but I’ve not fully kicked it into touch. I still have the dry cough and then sometimes it’s a bit phlegmy. I also get a little lightheaded now and again. I live with rheumatoid arthritis so can’t say if any aches or pains came with it as I already have those and fatigue - but I was, and continue to be, more tired than usual....this could be RA related as have stopped my immunosuppressants for two weeks and am now slowly building the dose back up again - am currently taking a 1/4 of my normal dose.

All the best

All the best to you too Ali. I don’t think anyone realises just how awful this is and scary. As people have so many different symptoms. My friend is in hospital on a Covid Ward now, not caught from me as we live 100 miles apart. But she’s 16 years younger than me and has it worse. I know I was very careful and still caught it.

Thank you again for your replies. I really have appreciated people bothering.

I hope you are not in too much pain. Look after yourself. 💐 x

Hi Cockneyblue, my commiserations. It's a most horrible disease in most of its forms. The biggest bit of advice I'd give is to listen to all advice given by your medical professionals but over and above that, be as kind to yourself as you possibly can. Rest lots, stay hydrated with plenty of warm drinks. Eat when you can but keep it light and probably better with little and often than three meals a day for the time being. Get as much sleep as you can and don't become frustrated or despondent. This seems to take a long time to get over fully, so don't rush anything.🙏
