I love poinsettias. My son buys me one for my birthday at the beginning of December every year and I also have a Christmas cactus which a friend gave me.
I can never get my poinsettias to last though. I put it down to the open fire and the heating?
Technically, it shouldn't be a problem. Poinsettia come from a hot climate, but it is the shortening of the days which makes the bracts colour up. They do need a lot of water though, if you are in a hot room.
I did manage to nurse one through to a second year, but it was only a shadow of its former self.
Probably better to get new each year.

Yes I have come to the same conclusion. Sadly I think they are only good for one year. So lovely to have over Christmas and through the winter though!
I love poinsettias. Such a burst of colour for Christmas and so interwoven with the Christmas season. Yours are an impressive sight and will provide a lot of Christmas cheer at a time when we really are looking for anything which will cheer us up.👍😊

Lovely. I love Poinsettias.
My poinsettias from last year are still beautiful. I water them often since I have them in my front porch and it’s kind of hot.
