Our local stations have signs up saying you have to wear them at the stations too.It was the people who were getting on and off who weren't wearing them.
I dont like wearing one either but as you say,it's in everyone's best interests. Unfortunately many don't seem to understand the concept of duty of care-or choose to disregard it.
Typical Sheffield United supporters, never know when to cover their mouths. ( Put tin hat on๐๐xx)
If I was living up there yes-but I live 'darn sarf' ( nod to Dick van Dyke in Mary Poppins there ) now.Sorry to spoil your fun๐It was funny though๐๐
๐xxโ
And I married a Spurs supporter! The first time I met him in a pub I was wearing my SU scarf and was winding him up ( I didnt know him at the time) .He told me much later after we were married that if I'd been a bloke he would have hit me๐.And we've been happily married for 34 yrs!
My god woman, you must be a saint or go after your avatar, ie a MadBunny! To be happily married to a spurs supporter for 34 years. You could have said any other team, even Millwall ( it was hard to say that๐ฉ) lost for words.๐คxx
The latter I think.I did go to a match with him once- but only because I wanted to see Modric play!I even took him to a dinner at club restaurant for his 50th-it was when Ardiles and Villa were inducted into the hall of fame.I actually enjoyed it- well the food anyway.
To be fair to my wife, she took me to a dinner function that she, via her firm had been invited to. The guest of honour was Alvin Martin, and she arranged for me to sit next to him, he was such a lovely friendly man, he and I were talking most of the night.
Hope you know who he is๐xx
James Bond's car isn't it???๐Or am I getting it mixed up with that 70s pop singer who wore black leather gloves-sang my coo ca choo?๐xx
Oh and to upset your old man, I was working at Italia 90 and had to go to Sardinia for 3 weeks to make sure our photographers and journalists could cover England and the football hooligans. Most of the time we were going to England training sessions and cocktail parties, and our test picture to make sure everything was working, to send back to our main office, was a photo of me between Paul Gascoigne and Garry Lineker all arms locked ! , it makes me cringe even now thinking about it ๐ xx
No he doesnt like Lineker any more. He said he wss ok before he became an ( rude word). He was asking if Alvin Martin was the best they could manage?
๐๐๐ I think I am fighting a losing battle, I may have to retire a d cone back another day.๐๐x
Oh and I agree about Lineker, ( I've just agreed with a Spurs supporter๐) xx
Hahaha
Are you making hubby lasagna for dinner tonight ? ๐คxx
No why?
Ask him๐x
Can you explain-he hasnt a clue either!!!!
โโโโโโโAhead of Tottenham's Friday Night Football clash at West Ham, we remember Lasagne-gate, the food poisoning controversy that infamously cost Spurs a place in the Champions League on the final day of the 2005/06 season...
Ah he remembered when I told him. He's just got in from work so he's half asleep-well thats his excuse
You two have a good night, I love having the banter with you. Shall we call it a draw??? ๐๐xx
I think you win after the lasagna!
Have a good one yourself x
Ps pie n mash tonight. No liquor tho
Are you for real, I love pie and mash, and try hunt down the lesser known ones Love the one at Wanstead and also another at Greengate that is/was owned by an Eastenders actress. Fyi I am picking on Mr Rigatoni at the mo, like his post tho๐xx
Here's a little fact that your OH might be interested in, Artera was only 8 years old when his rival North London team last won the FA Cup ๐
Sorry, Arteta!
I dont think Id better mention it to him haha๐I take it you support 'The Other Lot' then?
Maybe best keep it to yourself ๐yeah true red gooner! ๐So good to have the โฝ back. Take care xx
Haha. Although I think hed probably come back with a comment๐
Yep but probably not a comment suitable for the forum๐
Hahaha
I like Arsenal, I understand that their history is way above the other team who's area you moved into ๐๐๐x
I like West Ham and was so happy that you got the London Stadium rather than "them" ๐
Thank you xxxxx
It ok, I can afford to be generous, we are the 14 times FA Cup winners after all๐
It's not the supporters I dislike, in fact I have a few Spurs mates ( more Arsenal) its that Daniel Levy That I can't stand. Sorry MadBunny, not picking on hubby xx
I think most of the Spurs supporters would agree with you on that one.
Think we should get away from football ๐xx
I keep getting the urge to purchase a big white bear from the Arctic. My doctor says I may have 'Buy Polar' disorder
I have a lot of respect for West Ham and I was very happy when you got the London Stadium rather than "them lot" ๐
Which football team do you support then?!?
Me or Bazzak? I support Sheffield Utd although I havent seen them play for a very long time as I dont live up there any more.
Funny how this thread has developed from masks to football
Blame Bazzak for that๐
Both of you?!? I'm Oldham!!! We are one of the founder members of the Premier League!!!! Xxxx
Bazzak is West Ham.Well- somebody has to be๐If I remember rightly Sheffield FC was the first professional club.
That's great!! One of our sons is Oldham and Sheffield United (he went to uni in Sheffield), our other son is Oldham and Man United!! Hey , we beat West Ham 6-0 in 1990๐คฃ๐we don't have much to shout about now ๐ xxxx
You'll have to remind Bazzak of that๐When I first started going to watch Sheff Utd it was the old 3 sided ground:there was a cricket pitch at the side of the football pitch where Yorkshire played.Sounds strange now but we never gave it a second thought.
Oldham, I love Oldham!, please ignore MadBunny, The name is correct. Sheffield United may have been the first professional club and they never lost a game until the 2nd professional club, which was probably Wednesday.๐xx
How can you love us when we beat you 6-0!!!!
Because you are a proper club that has to live in the shadows of the big Manchester clubs xx
Fair enough, here's me thinking you would laugh at me ๐๐คฃ
No my darling, I laugh at people that have lived their whole life in London and support Man United. Xc
My Dad who was from Blackley, north Manchester supported Man United but when he decided to take my brother and then me he took us to Oldham because he knew there was less trouble there and so he loved Oldham too even if they were playing United. I'm Oldham through and through but I will support Man Utd sometimes depending on who they are playing because of my Dad who is sadly no longer here.
Soooo many ๐ค
Im not rising to the bait tonight- Im watching Midsummer Murders๐ฑ
I like Midsummer Murders but have seen most of them before ๐
Wow surprised it's not made compulsory for people, accept those, who are exempt! I must admit, I would have worn one, as you could get fined for not wearing one! Strange!๐๐ Anyway off to bed ๐ด
'night!
Sorry reading through the replys ๐ football memories๐
I love football!! Xxxx
Well glad I read all the replies haha, sadly 5 am getting up in morning, upsedaisy! Must try and settle now but was fun reading! Anyway don't forget your facemasks on public transport unless you exempt from wearing one!๐ท
Night all and thanks for making me smile tonight!๐๐๐ด๐๐๐๐
I used to but it's changed so much.I was a massive fan in the 70s, in my teens.I used to go to matches with my older brother.
I first started going when I was 6 with my Dad and my brother and found I loved it!! I don't go now as I don't feel well enough but hey ho got to keep smiling ๐ xxxx โค๏ธ๐
I so love football โฝ
Who do you support?
Arsenal, we've lived close to the stadium for over 40 years, but as a child I was a big fan of Leeds Utd xx
Hey, we beat you 3-0 the same season we beat West Ham 6-0!! It was the pinch me season!! Xxxx๐๐โฝโฝ
Yes, it would make my blood boil too๐คฌ๐คฌ๐คฌ๐คฌ
I donโt know much about football, the team recently won something and if the young children where seen with the kit on, all the ice cream vans where giving them free ice creams. I can tell you, life size cardboard cutouts of klopp are everywhere. They have them in their gardens, looking out of living room windows, in fact, I might have to get one for my garden to keep on trend. ๐๐
That is so frustrating and annoying. No-one particularly likes wearing a mask but it's there for the safety of others. I personally think some people have relaxed far too much.
